is this shock totally new in the industry?

Not really. Air shocks have been around a while. But Fox Floats perform well and aren't too horrendously priced, comparatively. There are also lots of competitors getting into the air shock field now also. I know TEAM INdustries has a new air shock that is supposed to be good also.

Mike

but is this the first rear fox air shock?

have to see if the length is the same as 121 mono might be interested in getting one instead of rebuildingthe stock one

No, this is not the first rear Fox Float air shock. They been out for several years, especially for the big bump and mountain segments.....

You can get both Fox Float center and rear shocks, but not for every make and model or skid out there.......

As stated, with the Mono, the Mega Float would be the least of my worries. I think they have beefed it up pretty good but the Float shoudl really be the test. If I were going to get a Mono skid sled, no doubt the Float would be in back. It cost me $600 to get my R.A. to be ridable in medium bumps. Also I think the 128" is great, it should've been that from the begining.

I'm NOT conserned by the stirdiness or longevity of the Fox float in the skid. I have abused my front Fox Floats by running into ice ridges on the lake jumping as high as 10 ft before landing on the ice on the far side of the ridge. Didn't even loose air pressure nor did it bottom out on the landing, it did bottom out on the impact tho :-)

I'm a believer when it comes to Fox air shocks! I'm a little more leary when it comes to the Mono skid.

Cat already has the Fox Float rear skid on all their mountain sleds.

According to the latest post on SledTalk Chris says the new shock is a direct replacement and they are working on pricing and availability now.

Yea I love my fox floats I caught a rail tie one day and my left a arms bent AROUND my shock and my simmons ski snapped in half. The fox float was the sole survivor. I did break the pump they come with tho

I wonder if anyone has ever put a air compressor on a float?Might work well to adjust the airpressure as your riding like the M10.Why not on front also?

adjust on the fly, good idea ;)!

The new snowmobile mag i looked at today had a small compressor that mounted on side of floor runners to adjust shocks
