I have a 2006 Yamaha Attak and the slidders keep wearing down in front of the inside wheels in the rear. All the boggie wheels are over sized. I was wondering if another set of wheels on the out side will help.

That's where mine wore out. I asked the dealer and they said that's normal. I had some wear left but replaced them anyway at 1,700 miles. I still believe that if you get "in and out" of the powder OFTEN, you'll get the max wear out of the hi-fax regardless of anything else.

My apex GT wears out in the same location. Just replaced my hyfax today. 2nd set in 1650 miles. Do the graphite hyfax last any longer?

Fix Power Sports sells an inside wheel kit for just this problem. They even are advertisers here on the site. Nice looking parts too. They sell em for the Nitros and Phazers too.

maybe a rear cooler will add some juice to help?

I have an 2006 attak with two small wheel kits between front and rear idler wheels. Have put on 3000 miles and will probably put another 2000 on before changing hyfax. I also put stainless steel 5/16 X1" round head bolts in on the closed window.

Do you find the round head bolts are reducing wear or reducing friction? I guess wear is friction. That is a good idea. I'm sure they are doing the same job as the small pucks you can put on. Hmmm.......what if you used a 1.5" bolt and sharpened the tip down to 1.4". Reduced wear and added traction......

Or you can cut the closed windows out.

I choose 1" bolts because they do not have a big head to support being used as a traction product. You have to use 1" so when you are tightening you can hold threads with vise grips. Any longer may scrap tunnel protectors. I feel the closed window was meant to carry snow to the top of tunnel and lubricate sliders, this is my reasoning for not cutting window out and clipping.tttario said:grizzerly said:I have an 2006 attak with two small wheel kits between front and rear idler wheels.
