Well, I'm seriously watching this closely as it's my back yard... Deep into the teens, for highs, following weekend.

Joe Bastardi predicted this months ago. Said the pattern changes after Dec. 20, and winter roars mid Jan through March. We shall see.

We still have zero snow here in Welch MN and I saw on the news yesterday that December for MN was 20 Degrees over average for the month, and had zero days at average temps. January so far has been 10 Degrees over average temps. No ridable snow in the forecast. Been tough to see.

We had a real decent start to the season last year before the meltdown in Feb. The year before we were dismal to say the least and unridable for the most part. Southern MN is becoming like Iowa used to be and I'm afraid its not going to get any better. Maybe we'll get a good Feb snowfall like we had a while ago, the law of averages right....

We got some decent wet stuff here, for trail base.. Little last night and a bunch FORCASTED for Friday.. LES will get cranking this weekend in the U.P.
Biggest issue will be amount of frost in the ground for mid January. The warm December has been the killer so far.. Looking COLD next week.. Guessing mud holes in way more places then what people think.. Going to be some "sunk" machines on spacebook.. Always good for a laugh

Central Wis got it pretty good, as indicated by that pic. 8"+/- on the ground. More coming tomorrow. Then the deep freeze, following a day later. Which I understand we would have wanted first. but hey take what you can get.

Northern lower Michigan from Grayling to the Mackinaw Bridge has about 6” on the ground and 12” forcasted thur Sunday night… Poor trail conditions and no good base yet… Most lakes are still open water and none are safe yet… Upper Peninsula from mackinaw bridge to the Soo is pretty much same condition as lower…

Bummer for us in N WI, only calling for 3-5". LES should fire up this weekend for the UP
