What Mirrors does everyone have on their winder? Is the best option the windshield with the mirrors or something else?

I use the windshield with mirrors. They have worked great for 3 season, easy to see behind you at any speed and you can use muffs without any obstruction of view.

Windshield with mirrors on my Viper. Work well look good

Are you guys using the medium or medium Sport windshield. What is the difference?

Not sure of the difference

This is mine with medium sport and mirrors, the medium windshield is basically the same but the centre between the mirrors is higher.

Fabio is this the windshield that has dimples for the mirrors (medium sport)?

Shanny - do a search for mirrors; mirrors are a personal choice, some people hate them, and some have to meet a sledding requirement . For this year I'm drilling holes in my powermadd hand guards for ski doo mirrors but eventually I'll upgrade the windshield and get the design Fabio has.

Steve, your sled came with the tall windshield, that shield is not as thick or strong as the medium windshield, they suggest the medium shield if you go with the mirrors on the windshield. I like the taller windshield and going with the suggestion the dealer is going to make once I get my sled worked on first week on November. Will update to you then with pictures. I was in New Hampshire last week and got my first peek of snow on the mountains...it's coming!!!

Sab2020 yes it is the medium sport with the dimples.
I would of went with the medium just because I do most of my riding in northern Quebec and northern Ontario and would of liked the extra wind protection but it’s a close call fitting in my Triton trailer.

just don't go with the mirrors that attach to the cowling...you have to look down when riding, that creates taking your eyes off the trail...not good or safe.

I'm with Fabio on this one.

I did quite a bit of research last season and chose the medium sport windshield with the Yamaha mirror kit. Super easy installation with the dimples marked on the back side of the windshield for drilling the mounting holes for the mirrors. The mirrors did everything that I expected (solid mounting, great clarity, and good field of vision) and look good.

Here's a chart that shows the difference in windshield heights that Yamaha offers:

A couple of pics of the medium sport windshield/mirror kit on my SideWinder...

Just make sure that you order both the mirror kit and the mounting kit as the mirror kit does not come with the required mounting kit. Go figure. :dunno:

VX1R - thanks for posting the windshield diagram... I think the Yamaha accessory booklet has the P/N's and the diagram

Fabio - the medium is a little taller, according to the diagram above. Do you know if the medium has the mirror dimples, or do you think all the larger "accessory" size windshields have the mirror dimples. I rather drill clean hole and not estimate on a curved surface. Maybe I should hold-off w/ the hand-guard mounting.

From my understanding only the medium and medium sport have the dimples for the mirrors.
