mirrors on 08 vector

just got a set of mirrors for my 08 vector, bought e-bay still in box, they also fit apex. they mount to side panels but they did not come with directions where to locate them on the panels, has anyone these mounted this style mirrors, if so can you post a picture where they mount.

If they are the ones I'm thinking about. I put them on my 06 Apex an the did not work very good. Got some that went on handel bars, much better!!

I don't know if they're the same as the 'o6 vector's, but if they are, you should find small "dimples" on the underside of the hood which should mark where to drill the holes.

they should mount in the same place as the apex as its the same set up on the 08' vectors as the apex. they came w/ a paper templet showing where to mount them on the black plasic side panels.should be near the the top and back(towards you) s far as you can flatly install tem off the curves of the panel. im going from memory from last year though.

I just installed a set last week, I will check later tonight to see if I still have the paper templates. Very simple install with those.

pics would be nice as im looking for mirrors too and hard to find decent ones that dont disguise the sled

sorry i didnt keep any of the instructions. i know my last years apex that i put them on they sucked big time as i couldnt see behind me w/out having to remove my hands from the handlebar because of thier mounting location. have someone set them on their before you drill the holes to see if you can see behind you good so maybe you can move them around a little.

The Mirrors that mount on the cowl don't work very well, your always looking at your knees. If possible get the Mirrors SMA-MIROR-00-KT from Yamaha Canada these mount on the bars. The cost is $29.64 per pair Canadian, around $24.00 US.

Like to see a pic of the handle bar mirrors mounted. I am interested in getting a set. Had a set of 8FP-W2628-02-00 and returned them as I thought they would not look good on the machine(08 vector). They also came in a box with no instructions or templete.
