i put a 136" mono in a viper and i used the brackets from a 4-stroke and got all the correct measurements and such, but i am having problems with the suspension acting like it is binding. i tried both the stock shock and the e.c. ohlins on it and no change. the front limiter strap sags and the suspension acts like it doesn't want to un-couple. i let the transfer rod all the way out and ended up unooking it and it let it un-couple and the limiter strap is taught, but when i stand on the skid its like there is no shock in the skid (no travel, sits there solid). anyone have any input on this? i have been racking my brain over this and have been trying everything to see what the problem is but still nothing. even loosened all the bolts as well (in case it was binding on the tunnel). i don't know what is stopping the shock from doing what its supposed to do. any help is appreciated.

anyone have any info on the mono's? i know theres a lot of guys who have delt with the pro-actions forwards and backwards, still racking my brain on what the deal is. ttt

Did you take your measurement's off of a 121" or 136".They can't be exact otherwise it wouldn't bind.

The exact same thing happened in my edge install on my RX1 and I had the rear mounted to low, I raised it up a inch in the tunnel and bam it was perfect. Make double dog sure you have all four corners the EXACT same height as the sled it came off.

The key measurements are as follows;

Driveshaft distance down from the top of the tunnel.
Front holes down from top of tunnel perpendicular with top of tunnel.
Driveshaft to front holes magic line, parallel with top of tunnel.
Back holes down from top of tunnel perpendicular with top of tunnel.
Driveshaft to back holes magic line parallel with top of tunnel.

Definition magic line; This is a line coming out of the hole intersecting with the top of the tunnel at 90deg angle.

Regarding distance from top of tunnel measurement;
If (for example) the driveshaft is an inch further down from the top of the tunnel in the viper, then so must be the front and rear mount holes.

The Viper tunnel isnt as deep as the Apex's or RX chassis, you might be running into problems there.

burman not form the top of the tunnel there is enoughe distancemany guys have put 121 mono's in srx's and a few in vipers

vx7r has a 136" mono in his srx I would get his dimension's

thanks for the tips guys, ya i got my dimensions from a 121" mono. thought it would be the same except the rear bracket would be different (having the rear axle apart from the rear arm) i will try to see if boomer wrote down his dimensions he used.

I made the same mistake on a proaction .I took meausrements off of a 121 using a 136".They are different
