I am in the process of reinstalling my rear skid on my 05 RX1, but am having a hard time getting the front bolts in, are there any tricks to this? I followed the directions from the tech page. I broke one off the bushings trying to get it past the reinforcing brackets. Is this with the sled in the up right position or on its side? Thanks

The two front bolts were a little difficult, and I had help with it. What I did was to lift the sled by a chain on the rear bumper and then just kind wiggle it into place. It only took a couple of minutes spent looking at where it was and what I needed to maneuver around in there, but it eventually went in.
When you get ready to do the back two bolts, you might find a couple of 2X4's handy. I needed them to try against the rear shaft to compress the suspenion to make the geometry correct so the bolt holes lined up. Also, there is an ideal height for the tunnel to be at when you do this. A chain fall works great for this purpose.

I have a engine lift on the bumper to lift the sled, but I put the heavy spring in and its very hard to compress the suspension. Would disconnecting or loosening the the transfer rod help? I know it worked good with the proaction.

Definitely, I thought that's what you meant when you said you did what it said to do here. That helps quite a bit. I also put the heavy spring on, and this is how I did it. I didn't mess with the limiter strap shaft at all, just the transfer rod.
Make sure you loosen the track and lift the front. I also just wrecked the outside bushing ends. This will allow you to access the mounting locations in the front without hitting all of the rivets. With the weight transfer bolt removed you will be able to get the back bolts in without any trouble. You may need to raise/lower the rear of the sled to get the transfer bolt back in without resistance on the threads.

Do you mean to lift the front end of the suspension into place manually rather than droping the sled down onto it? If so, yes, I agree. Raise the rear plenty high and then lift the front into place and bolt it in. Then lower then sled onto the rest of the suspension.

Take the bolt out of the front of the transfer rod.
The first time I tried to get it back in I started with the rear bolts. Couldn't get the front ones in. So I undid the rear bolt and put the front ones in first and couldn't get the rear ones back in.
This is when I took the bolt out of the front of the transfer rod then I was able to get the back bolts in. Transfer rod bolt went back in easily.

I used the rear bolts with no problems. I could not see where removing the limiter strap shaft was going to do anything for me at all since there was no tension on the limiters at any point in the process.

Ok guys, now Iam confused as to the easest way to put the skid back in.
The tech says to put the rear bolts in first, but sounds like you guys are putting in the front bolts first?? Which is it???

Theres a little note on the bottom of the tech page that says start with front bolts first.
There sure are a lot of rivits in the way when trying to get the front piviots in there. I finally laid the sled over on its side and put it in the old fashion way. Disconnecting the transfer rod helped. The wrench at the dealer says there 10X's easier than the old ones, I guess I'll have to go for lessons.
