Two questions.
1. What is the easiest way to remove the skid. It has the RA adjuster. I heard if you remove the bottom limiter strap it comes out easier but i would think that if you collapsed the skid and held it together somehow it would come out easier????
2. Can the sliders be changed on the mono skid without removing the skid? I looked and it would seem that the trtack windows are smaller than the sliders. Every other machine I owned I could pull them out the track windows.
I want to pull the skid out and check all the bushings and grease it well this spring but I would also like to know if you can change sliders without taking out the skid.

I have a o6 Vector GT , Loosen track , take the screws out , spray the slides , rails , and the windows with WD-40 , get em to the window with a screwdriver and a hammer . Clamp a vicegrip on the end , twist and pull at the same time , they'll should pull right out , ( window will give enough to get them through )reassemble with some more WD-40 on the new sliders and push em in . Readjust track . Took about 20 minutes . Might want new screws , the old ones might be worn , making the next time a pain .

Forgot ... don't forget too ckeck the length of the old hyfax to the new hyfax , mono skid takes shorter hyfax , the 05 sliders will work if cut them off to the right length , Skid left in is much easier if all the bearings are OK . Good luck !!

The mono skid comes out and goes back in very easily compared to most skids. You can remove the limiter but you don't have to. In fact to get it out, just remove the bolts holding it in. It's the going back in part where you need to do something. You can either remove one end of the weight transfer rod/shock, or the limiter strap shaft, or both. Whichever way you choose makes the job pretty easy. Bolt up the front, and then lift the rear of the sled. A chainfall reall helps here. Now you can basically pry the rear of the suspension forward until the rear mounting holes at where the need to be front to back wise. Then just lower the sled until they are lined up. I did it alone, not that tough.

Thanks guys appreciate the advice. I have taken skids out in the past was just wandering if there was anything new I needed to think about on the Mono RA skid. Also as the slidders wear quicker than other skids I wanted to know if they could be removed by themselves without removing the skid. I have changed sliders before on a saddle bag trip in a motel parking lot when I burned them off due to no snow or ice riding.
