Snow Fever

Went riding again yesterday, forgot my camera at home
. Anyways we went to a ski hill 2hrs north of my place. There was a little better then a foot of snow at the bottom and between 3-4' at the top. This sled with a Turbo and this new track 162x16x2.3 is the craziest thing to ride. We were able to run on the ski hill runs as they haven't opened the hill yet. You watch the 800 2 strokes go and they go up the runs in the powder pretty good. Their skis are popping up here and there as they hit the moggles. There was 2 of us with Rx-1 turbos and this new track and when we come up the hill the skis leave the ground when you hit the throttle and they don't touch until the top or when you let right off, and this is burping the throttle, you don't need to pin it at all
There was a young fellow there with a brand new Rev with a 144" track on it and he could go up where there was tracks, but when he pulled out in the powder it went down like the sett'n sun. I came up the hill with the skis 3-4' in the air, in the powder, burping the throttle and stopped beside him to help him get unstuck. He says to me, that things goes pretty good hey, is it brand new? I said yea just breaking it in. He looked pretty depressed. He said to me, I should have bought one with a longer track. I told him yea you can't believe all the Bull$hit you read in the magazines, I read the article too that said a Rev with a 144" track would go anywhere and that it had awsome track speed. The part they didn't write was even though it had good track speed, it didn't have forward momentum. I was running 9lbs boost yesterday, I put in a Blue/Pink/Blue spring, the short one from the old style clutch, it was still reving 10,800 - 10,900rpm in the powder. This spring is 30 preload, 2 on the rate and 97 on the shift out. What the HELL? I can't believe how it's reving. I'm going to pull the weights and put washers on the rivets. I'm shooting for 10,400 to 10,500 rpm. Then the old girl will pull
The other guy with me that had an RX-1 Turbo had his boost on 17lbs. He said he's going to turn it back down to 10lbs as it was to hard to control weaving through the trees going up hill when you wack the throttle. (Too Fast) what a problem to have  For anyone that has an RX-1 mountain turbo or is buying one, get this new track. This thing is like a dirt bike to ride, you can pull wheelies and ride on the back bumper at will anywhere
Finally I have a sled that has WAY more power and traction then I need for the riding we do. THATS PERFECT.................
