Just about ready to install my used Holtzman kit on my 05 RX1. Where do you plug into the power for the solinoids? Can I install my bottle right side up or upside down? I want the bottom on the left side. I want to only spray when I want to. Thinking that I can leave the nitrous on and still ride the sled in the trails and have burst of WOT with out nitrous. Then when I want to spray I can hit it with my left thumb.
Can I get in trouble doing it this way? Can you hurt the motor if you spray at the wrong time?
My system is a 2 solinoid system. It looks like the one is the fuel solinoid. The solinoid looks like it has the fuel adjustment in the bottom of it. What should I set it at to start with? This kit come off a 05 RX1 and maybe be just fine where it is at but I don't have a A/F gauge so I want to be carefull. Any thing else I need to know?

Thanks For you help.
Bruce

Bruce, this is my old kit? Did you get this from 700Scott?

1st thing is you never want to push and hold the button at an idle. Always use at full throttle.

I have my button mounted on the left thumb for when I want to use it, or when I know I have good traction. (Best part is you can use the nitrous to leave the pack, let off of the button, and just stay full throttle. You are that much ahead of them and they won't catch you....)

Yes, you can drive the sled and have it full throttle without the bottle being on. That is waht makes nitrous systems so nice is that you can turn off the nitrous and let your kids or wife run the sled just as it does bone stock.

The fuel solonoid you have is not adjustable on the solonoid. Your fuel gets adjusted by the little fuel adjusters in the carb boots.

If this is my system and Scott did not touch it, it should be ready to rock for you. Never had a problem and the RX1's skis never touched the snow when on the bottle.

Holtzman Q's

Yes Terry
This is your old kit. I don't think Scott touched it because he never installed it.

Can you race someone and be on and off the button as long as you are at full throttle?

TERRY, I AM IN TENNESSEE PLAYING GOLF FOR SIX WEEKS AND I LOOKED AND REALIZED I HAD LEFT BEHIND THE DATA FILES WHICH HAVE THE INFO YOU WANT. HOWEVER, YOU SAID YOU HAD NOZZLES 417 AND 418 AND I KNOW THEY ARE NOT 20 G/SEC NOZZLES BECAUSE THEY ONLY HAD TWO LETTERS. SO IT IS PRETTY SAFE TO ASSUME THAT THE NOZZLES YOU HAVE ARE 15'S WHICH WOULD HAVE HAD OUR OLD DESIGNATION AS BEING 45 HP EACH. THAT IS THE BEST I CAN DO FOR NOW. BARRY

Does this sound right? Is he saying that they are 45 hp nozzles each for a 90 hp kit? No wonder you ski's were never on the ground!

If that is the case could I disable one nozzle and try it to see if it would make me happy? Could I run one nozzle with it being on the left or right side and not mounted in the middle?

Thanks for all your help.
Bruce

Bruce, you can race someone and use the button anytime, just as you are full throttle.

I remember having the 2 10 gps nozzles in there and thought I changed them out. This shows I did.

You can run 1 nozzle, but would prefer to have it centered between all 4 carb inlets and spray away from the inlets. The system is spot on right now and if you put it on and just bump it once or twice to get the feel for it, you will get used to it real quick. I had my tranfer rod at max also....wheelie time!

Terry

I sure would like to try the 90 hp set up but don't want to hurt the motor. If I go down to one jet how much of an adjustment do you think I will have to make with the fuel screws? Any other set up I will need to do other than clutching?

Do you have to purge the system? and how do you do that?

Thanks Bruce

Bruce, the nice thing is you have the 2 solonoid system which will allow you to purge the fuel and make sure that the system is working good before you even put the bottle on. You can do this while driving down the trail, just hit the nitrous button while the throttle is partially open, (bottle off of course) and the engine will start to lug down or bog and you can let off of the button and continue on the throttle. Easier showing in person than typing. After that, turn the bottle on and your ready.

Let me check my records to see what it was set at and you can run 1 nozzle, just turn the jets in on the carb boots.

No help on the holtzman, but like nos pro said only use the kit when your full throttle and need a extra boost. When i race on the lake (no one will race me anymore...) I take off stock up to about 50 mph and then press the button. I like to hold it down a good 10 seconds before I let off, by this time I'm seeing mid 130's on the dream meter look behind and you can barely see headlights through the dust. This is usually the end of the race however I have on occasion hit the button again just to really dust them and if I want to drain the nitrous.

Once you hit it you cant stop, its addicting as h***
