Motec Standalone ecu

Learned some new things yesterday about comp tables. Their's comp tables for ignition and fuel to help save your motor. You can set it up pull timing if you exceed your set boost to save your engine. You can add fuel also if you exceed it also. With this thing setup good it will help you save your motor in multiple ways. No piggyback will ever do that. It has overboost cut. depending on how you set it up, it cut fuel for you also. This is a 100% cut so set it right or you will go over the bars. You can have progressive boost. Say you only want only want 10 lbs. boost at certain rpm and more at other you can set a table up for it. Say you don't want boost controller active for a certain rpm and run on noting but stock Wastegate spring, you can set it that way also. I think that will help with fuel mileage as boost controller isn't holding Wastegate closed at low rpm. More to come. Going to try to get it out this weekend and setup the aim boost. Meaning how much boost do i want at a certain rpm.

Super video, that stutter will make it fly :-)

I've had it on the grass now a few times and it flies. So much smoother than pcv. Trying to get boost set up. I have to order a 6 psi wastegate. I'll be able to flip a switch and go low boost and pull timing if I run into low octane fuel. Still have a few hundred minutes left of closed loop lambda. All were doing now is running it pulling data logs, seeing how much from our set afr is in the logs then adjusting fuel tables. Low and mid is done. Just working on upper range now.

Your making me want to get into MOTEC tuning....

It's pretty easy. With the closed loop lambda it maintains what you want lambda to be and then you data log it and read the graph and tells what it had to do percentage wise to get to that lambda. Just then go into map and make that % change and done. I can even change how I want my fan to come on. Speed or Temperature which is adjustable now. Hot grips now also. They work differently. They start on hot when you start the sled and when you get going you just turn them down. They have a standalone knock system that ties into this also. It will pull timing if a knock is sensed also. This is an option.

I have just purchased a Motec for my MPI supercharged Apex! Martin at Precision Sports will be doing the install in early November! Also added 1000cc injectors, closed loop Lamda, waste gate/9 position switch, electronic boost control! Martin is a great guy to deal with and very helpful. Can't wait!

I was getting tired of constantly tuning piggyback fuel controllers! It should turn out to be a great trail sled and maybe the odd lake race!!! Very excited!

if someone interested in motec for apex (I don't use this sled... so...) :

I have one for sale,

Motec ecu, apex adapter harness with the digital input wire for the two step

It also does have the datalogging option.

via PM please.
