I have never had any starting issues on either of my two RX-1s. It is more likely to have a engine break down on any 2stroke before the Yamaha e-starter fails. On my old AC WildCat the whole starter housing came apart one morning trying to pull start the twin. Then the ignition failed... and then some more trouble. I finally jumped ship back to my Yamaha roots from the 2001 season. Reliability is my #1 priority when riding the outback alone far away from roads, trails and other snowmobilers.

That's why I'm hoping to purchase my first Yamaha soon, I'm tired of BRP's crap engine's. I ride where there's nobody for hundreds of miles. It's risky, but fun and safe if you are prepared, but reliability goes a long way in enjoying your trip.

thanks everyone...its even starting to feel like winter out here in colorado. need snow now
more pics:
one thing i've found thus far is yam used these little gromets to secure
some of the panels and they don't fit very snug. in the last photo above,
just above the key area there is a gromet on each side holding the black
head light cover on. the dealer was showing me the panels and dropped
the gromet down into never neverland, so today i'm gonna take stuff apart
and look for it. i think i'm going to try and glue the gromets in
question for you guys: the dealer told me to start it up every 3-4 weeks and let it warm up. and put some fuel stabilzer in it. is that ok since it's not broke in yet? what do you guys recommend? we won't have enough snow until late oct for proper break-in on the trail... is it ok for it to sit?

Wow I don't know if I can wait now to snowcheck one for next year.
I wonder if I can return that Dodge Grand Caravan back? Look forward to hearing how it runs for you. As far as starting it up, I fire up my 2 stroke every summer about every 2 months just get things moving around etc.
It won't hurt to start it up and let it run till it gets to running temp, rev it up a few times nothing excessive.
The fuel stabilzer will keep the fuels chemical structure from breaking down. Just make sure to have a full tank and add the stabilzer and then let it run so that the stabilzer runs through the engine system.
Should be good until you really hit the hills....2nd angled picture of the right side looks sweet....

these are sweet pictures man.im still waiting on my white gt here in ontario canada so these pictures help me while im waiting.concerning start ups,ive always started my warrior in the summer and never had any issues and this will be my third season with it.warm it up good then shut it off,i put seafoam as a stabalizer and it works great.make sure when you do break it in on snow to take it easy for the first 200miles very crucial with these four strokes if you want them to last a long time

Man its great to see one out of the box...
It is however disappointing to see that there are no
hooks on the handlebars, when the lil brother FX GT whatever
short track versions come with hooks.
Can't wait for mine, maybe I'll talk the dealer into adding a set of hooked bars for free... off a GT or something.

Hows the aproach angle ?
Would you be willing to take a clear side shot of the front of the track so we can see the approach angle ? Is it as steep as the Yamaha site shows it ? It looks great !
