Yes, the rubber block is slightly deformed, if I shaved a bit off the bottom of the rubber it would be a little better I guess. I did 335km on them with no darting and they worked fantastic, could flip the rubber block around, will try it and see if it feels any different.
MRYAMAHA, what part of town are you in ?
Can not wait to get these skis on mine!!! I know they ROCK!!!!

You are saying the thicker more dense side of the rubber ski stopper towards the back cause the ski tips to droop?
mmm.. No! Not in the stock Yamaha ski and unless the ski surface under this stopper on the pilot ski is uneven that will not be the case either.
But if it works for you.....
I think you will find you'll have to much ski pressure on the ground in front of the spindle/ski bolt and you will be increasing the darting effect....
I think we are talking against each other. LOL The pilot has the rubber turned around not the Yammy ski. When I put the pilot on with the bushing with the dense side to the front the ski droops. So I put the dense part to the back.
I have 400kms on the pilots and no darting.
Hmmmm, I did the opposite. The block I got had a notch in it and the ski had a tab that fit into the notch on the rubber block. We need to compare side by side

Reaper said:Well, I mounted them. All I did was flip the doo bushing around in the ski so the flange was outboard instead of inboard (same as Yamaha) put the doo rubber block in the doo ski saddle, lowered the spindle in and put the bolt in, Done ! Did take a bit of torqueing on the ski to get the bolt in but fits well with about the same range of movement and resistance as the yamaha ski.
I am confused with all the posts talking about shaving off rubber etc.., seems to bolt right on for me unless I am missing something.
Reaper, Can you confirm if this is the rubber you used. I got two of these today to complete the mounting job. I researched the thread in the skis section to get this part number 506151233 .
I can see how this might work, but I'm not sure since the Nytro spindles aren't shaped like the rubber.
I don't want to modify my stock rubber because if I don't like the Pilots I may put them on my wifes MXZ (ZX Chassis) and put my stockers back on.

Thats the one, just stuff them in, works fine. ski has a tab and rubber has a notch to fit it only one way. Have to wiggle things a bit but it goes in and works fine. shaving. grinding etc.. not needed unless you are anal.

Kewl sounds good ! wax build-up ??

Speed gets rid of the wax. LOL
Let us now what you think after you just drop them in, I found they bulge too much and won't last. I did one ride like that and they kinda moved around a bit too, there is nothing to stop them from moving sideways.
With the bushing in the regular way the skis droop down too much for me. I put mine in backwards and the skis hang down the exact same amount as the stock skis.

Mounted them today using the rubber shown above. Had to tap out one of the pilot busings and put it in backwards in order to make the yamaha spacers fit inside the ski walls.
The rubber looks like it'll hold up okay. Pretty tight. Can't wait to try them tomorrow.
