Turbo or non turbo mpg, which sled/driver's.I went with 21-41 also. Ran it all year. I was going to change my gearing even if I didn't turbo charge it. Top speed was not the reason I did it. My thought was to "calm" the sled down a little on the bottom and out of corners. One benefit was I can get 16.5 mpg if I want.

Ltx with 22/41 gearing and 9 tooth drivers, did a 110 mile ride over the weekend with a big mix of trails from slow bumpy trails to fast 70+ mph trails. 6.5 gallons used, 17 mpg with a 260 pound rider and 230hp.

Not trying to hijack this old thread, but I want power and fuel economy when needed, I keep hearing turbo sleds get good fuel economy 15-17, my 15 viper ltx dx with 1.6 ice cobra, ulmers intake big venom clutch kit and sandale can would get at least 13 ridden hard on 87 Oct, saw 16.4 once on -18 day with perfectly groomed trail's, now with Evo stage 4 flash and straight line header , can barely get over 11 on 91 Oct, plenty of power down low but sled still seems to hit a wall at 84-86 mph, sounds like the 21-41 gearing would help some in the mileage dept , probably going with mpi turbo 190 kit, I'm happy with the power of my setup now, just not economy and top end.

I'm running 24/49 in a rtx Le 1.7 and I get almost the same mileage as I did with the n/a set up on my stage 1 MPI kit and PCV PTI and I can pull 108mph and it don't take long to get there I was able to keep the skis up at 84 mph as long as i wanted with a full n/a set up and stock gears I could only muster 88mph.

Not sure where the high teens for mileage came from, but I've never seen over 13 mpg. Usually in the 11.5 to 12.3 range. My Nytro was 8-10 out west. And BOTH are better than my friends XF800 and his ProRMK800 (both completely stock- motor, clutching, pipes/cans, etc.). Usually by a couple of tenths, so it surely isn't worth writing home about.
I guess your mileage will depend on how you ride. Im on a MPI trail turbo.

I'm running an RTX model and left my gearing stock (24/50) and running a 1.5" track. I topped out in perfect conditions at 106, but was hitting the rev limiter when doing it. I also have the secondary machined for overdrive (not the primary) which is not fully shifting yet. So that tells me there is more to be had yet even with stock gearing. I switched away from the 8DN belt to try something else. Last weekend, I was topping out at 8900rpm and reaching the mid 90's for speed. But that was in some pretty warm temps and sloppy conditions. So at this point, I pretty much have a mid-90's sled in ANY condition. But with a bit of tweaking I'll get that to be a 100mph sled in ANY condition.
In addition - my riding style is pretty aggressive. I'm stuck at 10mpg most of the time. Have seen 12, but that was riding like grandma.

Mine will pull through 115 on good lake conditions. I haven't maxed it out, but that was probably close. I don't run full out very often, I would rather it pull hard to 100 than absolute top speed.

Well I guess I lied, filled it today before we left. Last ride was 13.23mpg. And I was riding pretty hard with 38-42* AIT and air temps 36- 45*. I was rolling in and out of the throttle more than quick on off and holding a higher average speed.

Guys to me it's more about the range, 10 gal at 15 mpg moderate trail riding = 150 miles per tank and ,3.3 gal in my mountain addiction gas can, all together should have a 200 + mile range.
