Does anyone have a working "muffler" for a tunneldump?. I have tried to weld a perforated(?) 2" pipe inside the 2,5"outerpipe, and put some steelwool between them as a muffler, but the wool burns out pretty fast. It doesn't make a big dÃfference on the noise either, probably because of the short pipe and the small amount of wool..
I have also made a cross in the pipe-end to shatter the noise like some does on rally-cars.
Of course i understand that it is not possible to make it quiet as an original sled, but it would be nice to get it better without losing a lot of power..

How much room do you have?
Post a pic of your installation, easier to come up with ideas on what to do when we have a pic to look at
I run a double divorced downpipe with no silencer, been thinking about adding a silencer, but very little room, front mount header from Need for Speed 2.

There are some pics here, in my old thread at the garage: http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=95145
The tank is mounted 2" further back now, than on the old pics.

Cool build
Your exhaust dumps in the exact same spot as mine.

Thanks, but the pics in the garage thread is pretty old and not updated.. but the exhaust are in the same place
If you have yours at the same position you know it is not easy to build a silencer there..

Yes I do, it's a though spot to put a silencer.
It's possible to put a silencer in the tunnell above the drive wheels underneat where the stock exhaust exits into the tunnell. A flat squared silencer could be made to fit in that spot.
