Second ride of the season yesterday , 148 k around Lake of Bays
still no base , no good snow , Baysville area best.
148km , 10 k good , 20k ok , 15k worst crap ever , the rest passable , but with rocks all the way !

D-Trail here in Bracebridge is toast from the warriors , warm temps tommorrow ,
could be some time before the muskoka trails are rideable again , thank god for trailers

A little farther north (almaguin highlands) we faired the same. Saturday morning was good but fell off rapidly from there. By the afternoon the idiots had the trails killed. I couldn't even be bothered trying to ride Sunday. Need more snow, time to develope a base, and somewhere else for the rest of the province to ride on weekends. Tough weekend for everyone involved.

i was at sand lake on the weekend, trails were great in the morning and like you said just trashed by the afternoon, the ride back from south river was brutal from all wanna be snocross racers
whats with people now having risers so tall they look like ape hangers?, ,lol

I rode Kearney on Thurs and Fri and the trails were awsome , but by Fri aft.the warriors were showing up , they were coming at me sideways in the corners , so Im sure they have been trashed , Surprised Im not reading about these guys in the paper this morning , Check out mrmuskokadave on You Tube for my Kearney Vid from FRi

i've got some on youtube from the 14th weekend also, look up bluezrx, i was going to run the helmet cam again but the battery screwed up

Mecca

I ride out of Singhampton, south of COllingwood. Blue Mountain Snow Drifters did a great job get the trails in shape after a snowfall last week, they managed to do a lot with a little bit of snow.

The traffic this weekend was insane. It seemed like all of Southern Ontario converged on this area to ride - almost like Mecca. The trails took a beating. Guys had them skinned down to the wood in a number of places.

Kudos to the groomer operators to get the trails up and going. Nice to go for a ride, and actually go somewhere and not just the hay field next door...lol

Muskoka:
After checking out your Youtube vid, it's hard to sympathize ... I can only wish for conditions like that before this season is a complete wash. What a gorgeous area you ride in.

We spent about an hour and a half waiting for food at Liz and Jack's place(Silversands). Edgewater and Sandhurst were the same from what we heard on the trails. The village Pub in Burk's Falls was more of the same as well as Sundridge from what i have been told. Not the best day to have my five year old in front of me........too much traffic.

Was out both days this weekend. Had my 5yr old daughter with on Sunday riding in front.

Even though there was tons of traffic, everyone seemed to be riding sensibly. I too have had those thoughts with lots of others out. Pray to god the unthinkable doesnt occur.

Putting your child in front of you is the worst thing you can do!

Just think, who is going to get the worst of it? You, or the child who is sandwiched between you and what ever it is that hit you?

Lots of riding belts etc out there for such an adventure, just google them. ;)!

My dad and I rode out of the Travel lodge in North bay. Sled was broke Saturday am, got it fixed, rode from the bay to Rolphston Saturday afternoon, then back to North bay on Sunday. Ended up being a 490km weekend. Saturday we back tracked a bunch out of North bay trying to find the A trail. Signage is horrible around there plus we forgot a map lol

Around North bay the snow was thin in some spots but it was nothing to complain about considering first ride was last weekend. The closer you got to the Ottawa Valley the more snow their was. Easy a good 3ft there and after the warm they had yesterday and now being cold, there will be a good base. I highly recommend heading up North east of the Bancroft area for some good riding this weekend. I heard they are supposed to get 10-15cm this week. Warm temps earlier, cooler temps and snow to come. Sure will make for some nice trails.

North bay to Rolphston and back we were on the A trail the whole time as its the only trail to take. It was beat to hell. Like riding a motocross track. Me on my Phazer, I was leaving my dad sitting on his brand new Gsx with airide (he jumped ship from his Apex). It was about -10 and I was breaking a sweat from riding so aggressively. The last 50km to North bay the trail got very bad, we could hardly hang on. Sore hands, legs, feet, back, everything.

Overall it turned out to be alright. I got some helmet cam videos so I'll edit and post them on the youtube.
