Here's 2 video clips of my Cobra F1r exhaust. It is about 10 years old or more and came from my friend's old Ninja 500. This year I repacked it with a quality kit, welded in 3 half-washer baffles to force the sound waves into the insulating medium and increase back-pressure a bit. I also shortened the total length by about 2.5 inches so that it wasn't sticking out ready to burn a boot. There's 2 layers of header wrap on the entire header and extra insulation below the gas tank and above the yamaha heat shield under the seat. I have the louvered front panels (that are off for powder coating) and I cross drilled the heat shield so hot air can flow out through the louvers. The better packing and baffles reduced the noise considerably. The volume is identical in both clips except the winter one is in an open driveway and the recent one is between 2 houses! And its still quieter! I love the way it sounds now, lots of low deep notes without the high decibels.

nice. i might have to try that out. i wouldn't mind tamming mine down a little.

When I had my pipe on my Phazer for a week it sounded exactly like what yours sounds like now. I loved it.
