My list for the Perfect APEX...

Thx, I'm good. My stuff is dialed in. This summer I am changing the track to a back country 1.75” and adding PCV and air box mod. Got a call into Ulmer however he is not an easy man to get ahold of. I am putting standard Yamaha MTX ski’s back on. I love them. I am not a fan the fuel can blocking the light. Too many issues if folks not seeing. I’ve put 5,ooo miles on this sled. It’s the bomb.

I know that on Dootalk, last year when the colors came out, everbody was freaking out, there where hundreds if not thousands of posts on how the colors where ugly.. then BRP added all black option ... so there, they listen...if Yamaha doesn't well, their decision, i know if i where them, i would like to know what enthousiast are wanting.. unless you don't really want to sell more sleds..then you don't care.
You have 54 posts on TY & I'm not sure when you joined but do you really think this is the 1st time Apex gas tank size, new plastic, seat , weight & improve front end design was when you posted it? These items have been posted for years & if Yamaha wanted to do something about them they would have long ago. I do think Yamaha cares or you would not have seen the 2016 Apex improvements but Yamaha is not going to dance to random posts on TY. IMO... we will probably see an all new Apex in 2018 ...2017 Apex will be tweaks at best + BNG.

jooper 1 ,,,,,solution foe extra fuel is simple angled exhaust turn outs ....even YAMAHA sell them (not the cheapest ) I soursed mine elsewhere and the extra fuel sits nicely on the back (yeh you cant see the back light ,,,,oh no´´´´´´)

You have an Apex GT, turnouts are an option. Anyone with a 2011 or newer, it's not an option. The exhaust is lower and closer together. You would almost need tailpipes rather than turnouts to make that space usable. I did like the previous post of the custom tank that held 2 gallons and came up to a point between the pipes. It was goofy looking, but functional.

just so you know, i had a 2006 Attak, a 2008 Apex LTX, a 2010 Vector, and now am coming back to Yamaha.. i'm just pointing out the obvious, but if you're happy with the status quo, good for you man..LaLaLa

i just think people should realize that the more we put pressure on Yamaha, the faster they will act.. if everyone sits around and wines "we can't do anything, ho hum..." well nothing will change.. we are the consumers.. i buy a new sled every year, so if my opinion doesn't count for the constructor, then they are the ones that are ridiculus..that is just not how you promote bussiness..

Here ya go. Fabricated myself.

As far as the looks go Doo from 2008 to present, basically look the same. Only Doo diehards can tell the difference just like the guys with 11 and up apes.

That looks great! Only problem I have is this will now put me with the same amount of fuel as my buddy’s Doo back country. And he gets 2-3 MPG better than I do. Just wish my tank would hold 11-12 gallons. Nice metal work.

Just trying to manage your expectations TY has lots of excellent tech info, good peeps to discuss Yamaha products but as far as Yamaha product development via random TY posts just not going to happen. Talk it up with your dealer & factory reps at shows better way to get your opinion heard or call Yamaha.

well, if we are ALL UNANIMOUS on the situation, why don't they just do it?? at least make a marketing Survey???

Nope I like the fact that the Yami doesn't look like the rest. I mean look at them, they all look alike. Doo, Cat, Polaris all look the same. Only Yamaha is different.

Then let me ask, do you think the Viper looks Good?...its a Yam with updated plastics ? they looked good in 2006.. now they could be a little updated..

Ok, i thought of a couple more things, Horn and Reverse lights ! I know sounds stupid but i would use it !
