So over the past two years i have pieced together parts and pieces (hindsight being 20/20 would have just bought a kit lol ) I have a 03 rx1 mountain 151 with a front mount gt28r,excel pipe , jannety inter cooler, prologger wide band a/f with boost control , stacked head gaskets, malpassi fuel pres reg , and stm carb caps. What should i go with for baseline pilots and mains , who makes a easy to tune clutch kit for these and what should i run for max boost i run 91 or better for fuel ....any input is appreciated ...

so i ended up going with 145 mains 20 pilots and 2 1/2 turns the sled starts and runs great till about 5000 and acts like it hits rev limiter i have taken everything apart and checked to see if i did something dumb but cant find anything . without boost it seems to rev up fine . i think i messed up some where on the carb vent lines where should they be pulled from .... turbo , charge tube ,i/c ??

Did you put the billet Ts in between the carbs ? Show us a picture of what you have and maybe someone can enlighten you.

i tried to order the ts but was told that they did not sell them anymore due to leaking issues and recommended using glue . i did glue them but have little to no faith in it . trying to get pictures figured out ....

learning slowly
So I have installed billet ts now (thanks to Jannety Racing for the 23 hour turnaround ) I put an inflatable plug in the turbo inlet and pressurized to 10psi and soaped up now no leaks , i put everything back together , fired it up and wham it ran like a champ... got all excited dragged it outside and nope started doing the same thing ... I brought it back in rechecked everything ,,,,,nothing so i set up and pressurized again ...no leaks . I put everything back together and again it runs like it should at least for about 15 seconds then it went lean and did the same thing . so i figured when i pressurized i flooded it and it liked the fuel , so i checked fuel pressure after the reg . it was 3to4 psi then i checked unregulated and blew my gauge (oops ) ............new gauge installed on regulated side i adjusted the reg to 5-6 psi and tried that . It still did the same thing . I pinched the return side off of the reg and it came to life but when i let off the throttle it flooded . So why do i need such high fuel pressure ? Are there inlet screens on these carbs and mine are plugged?

There's one thing in your picture that I don't like. It's how the air is plumbed to the back side of the carbs. Most intercoolers made have two hoses running to separate lines between the carbs. If you Tee these off of one line the two carbs that have the least resistance are going to open before the other two causing fueling problems. The Bender turbos without the intercooler were like that and some people in the early days of RX1s were having fits trying to get it to run right. Also I would try cleaning the carbs out real good. After reading your problem a second time I wonder if your Malpassi isn't bad. Try running your fuel pump with the pressure gauge hooked up and blow a light amount of air into the boost signal hose. Say 5-10 lbs. If your set at 5 and add 10 pounds of air pressure it should show 15 pounds of fuel pressure. If it bleeds down on you your regulator could be bad.

THANKS KEN I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT ... i SPENT TWO DAYS IN THE GARAGE WITH A VACUUM / PRESSURE PUMP UNTIL I FINALLY UNDERSTOOD WHAT WAS HAPPENING. THE MALPASSI WAS WAY OUT OF WHACK BUT AFTER ADJUSTING IT AND RE-ROUTING THE VAC/BOOST LINES IT CAME ALIVE . I RODE IT MOST OF TODAY WITH NO ISSUES OTHER THAN THERE IS NOT ENOUGH ROOM TO TO OPEN IT UP FOR MORE THAN A SECOND OR TWO AND THE APPARENTLY TYPICAL OVER FUELING ON DECELERATION BUT I THINK A LOT OF THAT IS MY CHEAP KNOCK OFF BOV GONNA WORK ON THAT ONE TOMORROW BUT FOR NOW I HAVE A PERMA -GRIN AND I DON'T WANT TO EVEN SIT ON MY TUNED Z1 ANY MORE

It is quite exciting when you make first pull on one of these and everything works right. You'll have to learn how to ride all over now. That problem on decel is still haunting a lot of RX1 guys. You just have to learn not to let off the throttle all the way and it's manageable.

trav427 - welcome to the site. Glad you got it up and running again.
How is Your AFR's Down low With the 20 pilot jets at 2.5 turns out. I run Stock 17.5 at 2 turns out and have good AFR numbers Down low.
BTW - would you mind adding Your location to Your user profile, site requirement.

I ended back on the stock 17.5 pilots was way too fat on the low side . I took it out to the lake sunday for test runs . Had issues controlling the boost thought i had the prologger setup wrong but found my wastegate actuator was stuck for some reason , not sure why but the rod seemed to get stuck going through the diaphram housing. After lenghtening the rod to the max this stopped happening . AF/R stays aroung 12's through to half throttle after that as long as creep into the throttle everything is fine but if whack the flipper she goes lean so Iam thinking that the I need to take Ken's advice and put dedicated ports in for the back side of the carbs and rework the hose length to the billet ts to balance things out . Right now iam using the U-shaped tube to in the inlet to the I/C for pressure to the Ts and one of the fittings on the bottom of the I/C for the back side of the carbs ? Is that right? Is there a better location to pull from ? What size fittings/lines work best ? Just want to check before i go blasting holes in the I/C and tig welding in fittings . Thanks again any advice is appreciated and special thanks to RXRIDER for putting so much info out there I would have never thought of doing the turbo had it not been for the "turbo garage".

Thanks Travis.
I run Powderlites Stage 3 IC.
On of the intake tube (2 inches from the tube inlet) in front of the IC core I have a U-shaped thin alu pipe 1/4 inch or smaller. The opening of the U-shaped pipe Points into the air stream. From this I pressurize my Malpassi Fuel Pressure Regulator and the Billett T's in between the carbs.
From the T in front of the carbs I have Equal length lines going to the T's.
I have all my plumbing at Equal lenght where it need to be to make sure slides and carb bowls get pressurized at exactly the same time on all four.
My IC has two 1/2" pipes feeding pressure for the slides. They are positioned exactly in between carb 1/2 and carb 3/4, this is done to make sure slides are opening simultanously across when they see boost.
BTW - I'm going to Eagle Lake, Northern Maine on February 16-27 for the annual Maine Ride. You have an awesome trail system in Maine.

So i don't know where to go from here I have re-routed my lines like you said RXRIDER and it still is the same .
Everthing seems to be fine until 7-8 k rpm and then it starts sputtering and wont rev past that point . Taking off from a stop at idle my afr is 14-14.7 then as i give it throttle it will get to 4 psi ...afr's at 12.2 it will then flash to about 10 psi and afr in the 12.2-12.6 range and act act as if it is hitting rev limiter sputtering out the exhaust and holding at 7-8 k rpm . ....the plugs are new gapped at 0.018" TORS is disconnected fuel pressure is now at 4 1/2 to 5 psi at idle and rises accordingly . I just don't understand what i am missing . I had a couple of coils kicking around and tried those also no change .... If anyone has an idea it would be appreciated iif this keeps up much longer i will be bald lol...
