Well I haven't been here in a long time! But we finally have snow here and my phazer won't start... the trickle charge says it is 100% charged but when I try to start it it is only cranking at 210rpm and won't start. I assume the battery is toast so I went to order one but "royal distributing" says their batteries are from 09 to 12 will they fit in a 08?

They're all the same battery, YTX14-BS. Royal's catalog is not listing 07-08 for some reason. Try Amazon. They have the YUASA cheaper and ships for free.

But before you invest in a new battery, have you tried boosting it with another battery with jumper cables or a booster pack?

Haven't tried boosting it and when was the last time you order a battery from them? Ordered one about a year ago and it came with the acid.

My bad, I corrected my post but you got the email notification first with the original post. I misread on their catalog that they don't ship with acid (only a few that they don't).

The 2 bolts that hold your starter together may have come loose which can cause excessive power draw/slow starting.

You can get these batteries at any battery supply store if you do need one. I had to get one last year and it was $80.00.

I deal with saskbattery, they add the acid and seal it before shipment, plus very good customer service. Also went with the YTX14H-BS as it's the same size but 240cca $109.50 shipped.

ETX-14 AGM from Car quest. The best battery I've ever owned. No liquid acid to overflow or spill. I just replaced my previous one that I purchased in 2009. The only reason I replaced it is that it just didn't have enough cranking power when it's colder than -15C. Paid $120.00. I paid 60ish on the first one because they were on sale.

There is liquid acid in there, it's trapped in the Absorbant Gas Matt (AGM). More CCA will help in very cold weather but a battery heater is the best.
