i ride a 2006 nytro and i wear a modular helmet a skidoo one and last year i got frostbite on my cheeks and i dont really want to risk it again. is the modular 2 any warmer i really like the modular i really dont want to change but i will if i have to please any sugestions would help

Yes my noes is in that breather that ejects your breath out of the helmet and yes I have a cover that covers my cheeks

Klim makes really nice stuff. Maybe check out a facemask or balaclava?

I bought the modular 2 and found no difference from the modular 1 excepting better visual preferences. I think that the 1 & 2 modulars are great helmets and wouldn't use anything different Best thing Ski-Doo makes.

i have a balaclava it came with my helmet. could i have a defectave helmet i get a lot of wind in side it?

I can't find one that is my hand gards doesn't hit where did u get one that will accept hand gards???

I have a powermadd riser with pivot setup so I can't help you with the handguard issue. But I have Cobra mid and tall shields along with the stock shorty. I do not have the stock riser so I can't try it out to see if they hit, sorry.

I have heard of people putting updated or extra seal kits on the modular to try and fix the draft problem.

The Doo modular should have come with a factory neoprene mask that goes right over the breath shield. It will prevent frostbite. I use mine whenever it gets below zero. Check with the local Doo dealer to see if he has one or can order one for you. That and keep the ice buildup in the tubes cleared out.

hey cruizin it looks like you have a taller windsheild and you have hand gaurds right? and if so where did u get it

you need a higher windshield. when i rode my son's rs nytro it was unbearable with the air being funneled right under my helmet. a higher windshield is the only real solution unless you can seal the bottom of your helmet.

found out today my helmet it got a bad jaw piece i ordered one today along with a taller windsheild thanks fo all the imput

I got a Mod2 this off-season and have to say that I am quite disappointed. It leaked so bad that snow dust would actually pelt me in the face and build up on the inside of the shield. If the sun shield was up, snow would build up on it so that I could not see through it when I put it down. Even inside the mask I could feel air hitting the bridge of my nose. My old AGV modular never leaked this bad, even on my Nytro. How did you find out you had a bad jaw piece? I suspect that this may be part of the problem as it doesn't always close properly. Also, there is quite a gap between the top of the shield and the top of the helmet when the shield is down.
