Was removing the six screws that are behind the primary clutch that surround the crank shaft, now it seems the the plate that they screw into has indexed pass the screw holes. Is there a way to get these screw plate the index back to the hole alinement. Have removed these screws several times with no issues but this time it seems that what ever the plate is in the motor has indexed away from the hole alinement position. Can i use a small screw driver to push or turn the plate back into alinement?

use the screwdriver or what ever you find, done it several time.

TAKE OFF COVER

Would it be that hard to remove the case cover and then index the plate to aline it to the cover? As I tried to use a small screw driver but the small opening makes it pretty hard to index the plate without removing the case cover. So it looks like cover has to come off...only hope to not damage the cover gasket during removal

pic of the cover

You can see the cover and the base plate that is surrounding the bearing in the pic that needs to be alined with the cover screw holes. The callout of the screw A-E then follow it into the plate

Go for it but be ready for ripping the gasket but mine has held up and ive removed it 4 times. Remove bolts and pull, just check the o-ring for the reduction gear and spring around seal so it didnt come loose, will else leak oil afterwards.
