I have rented a house in Pittsburgh for a week in mid-March. I will be riding NH and ME. Would love to know some highlights as far as trails, off-trail spots and locations, sites and restaurants that I can take the group to. We will be mostly riding trails, but I have some young studs that would love to go off trail and play as well. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dana

I guess everyone else is keeping Pittsburgh a secret.
You'll like the Pittsburg area. Plenty of places around town to eat and you can venture over to Rangeley from there. Riding has been very good all the way down to Errol. I haven't been over that way in a couple years, but know someone who's been riding there almost daily. See if I can get some more useful info for ya.

Some nice trails there. If your there in mid March I would concentrate on the higher terrain if it gets warm. Up in magalloway and East. Can’t recall the name of it but the little restaurant right in front of Young’s is good for lunch. Dinner that place down by back lake is good but gets crowded. I think it called Rainbow grille. If you head toward Maine check out Bosebuck. Food there is decent. I would also visit the Swift Diamond club trails. Those are very good and fun to ride. As for off trail, don’t do it NH please.

Pittsburg is nice, but VERY busy on weekends.
As soon you cross into Maine near Bosebuck there will be plenty of off-trail opportunities.
NH really frowns on that and it's threatening the trails everywhere.
PLUS, as soon as you cross the border it's THROTTLE DOWN!
OR..............................................maybe it's THROTTLE UP!
Either way, there is NO speed limit.
Stop in Oquossoc on way to Rangeley.
Bald Mountain Camps on Mooselookmeguntic Lake or 45th Parallel BBQ & the Ginger House on the Rangeley lake side of Oquossuc

Oh yeah, some police presence on trails in Northern N.H. also, weekends mostly. I don't ride there on weekends, maybe early morning then get out before the crazies get up and going.
As said the Swift diamond area is usually in really good shape, they are constantly grooming that area.. Get over to Millsfield pond loop also. Nash stream is nice and not too much traffic.
