I've had it with my &^*% POS Lazer Blizzard modular helmet. I never got along with the breath mask because it pinches off my nostrils if I adjust it tightly enough to keep it from leaking straight up onto my glasses. It also covers the part of my nose where my glasses need to rest. I've been using the helmet with an electric shield instead, and get tired of repairing and replacing the power cords when the wires break from too much flexing. This weekend, a molded-in boss inside the chin bar, that the pivot mechanism mounted to, broke off. Now the chin bar won't stay in the raised position. The overall quality seems really cheap.
I'd like to stick with a modular style helmet and have read good reports here and elsewhere on the BRP Modular 2. Does anyone here use this helmet with glasses? It would really be nice to not have a cord connecting my helmet to the machine. Contact lenses weren't an option a few years ago due to astigmatism, though my optometrist says there are new lenses out now that should work. That's why I like the idea of having the sun shield in the BRP modular. Without it, I would need sunglasses with contacts on a bright day and that wouldn't be any better than wearing my glasses with transitions lenses.
