I recently purchased a new 128" x 1.25" ripsaw track for my nytro. I will be extending the rails, adding avid extrovert drivers, adding anti stab wheels, more wheels etc...this wil be for trail riding, grass, and snow/ice dragging. Im aware i will be sacrificing certain characteristics with this setup for each situation.

I have decided on a 4-4-6 pattern to total 238 studs. They will be woodys megabites 1.450" studs. The rows with 6 being studded on the outside to achieve 6. I will be running double backers down the center. I am trying to decide between the woodys dual hole steel bender plates or the woodys double digger aluminum support plates.

I know the dual hole benders are 7mm instead of 5/16 and would have to be driled out to fit the megabites but i like the idea of added strength pressing off the lug. Yet the 7º angle of the double diggers also looks effective. Does anyone have any experience with either of these backers? Will i be just as happy with the double digger aluminum backers and saving myself time from drilling and hand placing the backer locations like i would have to do with the bender plates?

Any feedback will be appreciated thanks!

I will never run aluminum backers again for trail they bend very easy, I used they with the old t-nut stile studs and lost half my studs in a short time may be better with push thru studs. I run plastic now and they seem to hold up well and I think they have some that go against the track lug at least for single backers not sure about double. If you want to race I would use chisels and mix with trail Carb. To hold up better for trail rideing will hook much better and can run less studs so less rotational weight. Didn't like Mega bites no penetration on ice and heavy

I have run both aluminum and plastic, ive never had an issue with either, no pull throughs or bent backers/studs in 1500 miles on the aluminum Grand Digger double support plates. I figured aluminum would be a better setup for strength and more consisten torque settings to spec for the studs. I am running the megabites on my SX Viper Mod sled and they are great for grass, thought they would do ok on hard pack and ice but maybe not then. Chisels are not an option for me, I wont run chisels on the trail and a lot of the smaller races arent allowing chisels for certain classes. I could just go with the stainless signature series, ive run them in the past and had very good luck with them. Just thought the megabites would have a little more to offer in the traction department

I've decided on SnowStuds (accord racing) 2 hole angled backers, same concept as the metal bender plates just in a nylon backer. Ive used their round nylon backers for years and have yet to crack or break one. I will give these angles backers a try. Looks like a will go with the woodys signature series stainless studs again. I know what to expect with them and have had good luck with them. Dont want to sacrifice traction on ice if i go with the megabites
