First off, Its great to finally get registered. I've been checking out this site for some time now, since I got hooked up with an 05 Grizz last August.
Having a big problem though with my neutral light not woking after the beast heats up...... I've had the gear indicator light switch replaced twice now and the problem keeps comming back. My dealer has been trying to help, BUT it keeps coming back to haunt me. SO I called Yamaha today, and they seemed concerned. SO they called the dealer and talked to them. Now my dealer service manager seems pissed that I called yamaha. Maybe I'm reading him wrong, I hope so. I even said to the rep that my dealer has been great. I JUST WANT MY NETURAL LIGHT TO WORK.
Find the "Sky Blue" wire and clean the terminal and the socket it plugs into at the slector switch.
If there is corrosion contamination, it will keep showing up as you described.
Not because the corrosion comes and goes, but because every time they replace the switch assembly, they unplug and replug the wire and that frictional proccess polishes the terminals slightly. Then as a short time goes by, the corrosion (which was not resolved), spreads over time and affects the connection.
It is a very simple circuit. Not much can go wrong with it.
I hope that all makes sense. I am very tired right now.
