Hello,
I picked up a few months a 16 MTX Viper with the dealer installed MPI Turbo kit. It was the spring special power surge setup. Sled was built in May of 2015.
I have 2 questions.
1.) What is the shutdown point for ECT on this thing? I know the sled will go over 210 before flashing a high temp, but with the added turbo, I wants to know when it should be shutdown before a meltdown?
2) Is my motor the early series before they made the changes with the new rods? I read it was late 16, but also a majority of them had the new motor so I am trying to find out.
I came off a 08 MTX Nytro that I loved. I mostly trail ride but ditch bang whenever I can. I have the 141 MTX model so I have the ability of adding the smaller track if I want.

You have the new engine. But you have warrenty so you need to go have som fun

I talked to the dealer and he said the rods are good up to 200HP. It just sucks because now I cant do the 230HP kit if I wanted. I was under the impression that I could. The build date on mine is 5/15

Well mcx turbos stated that the mcx190kit did not last their stress test with the new engine.

Well mcx turbos stated that the mcx190kit did not last their stress test with the new engine.
And MPI said there kit is good and it has the Yamaha warranty.

Mpi says run it! Put an afr and boost gauge on!
Also check you boost controller. There is a recall on all of them. Look up the thread" mpi boost controller".

read the fine print on the yamaha warranty.They do NOT warranty the engine if failure is boost related
