I am in the middle of the teardown of my 06 apex, and gues what a-arm bushings are shot!! Who would have thought, lol! (sarcastic).
Now which is the best to use for my sled? I know ulmer makes one for 165.00, and pioneer performance makes one for 85.00, not sure of any other brands out there..
Sooo which is the best to use, and best bang for my $$??

What does pioneer use to make there's? I know ulmers are aluminum or mettle
Ulmer uses oil-lite brass. I believe pioneer uses a form of oil impregnated plastic. I would recommend the one's from Ulmer. Have a set on my Nytro. Really tightens up the front end and won't wear out in a few hundred miles.

I was just wondering the same thing, I had two browsers open last night trying to compare the kit from pioneer to the one from ulmer.

I have Ulmer's kits in my Nytro, and my Apex. Allan's kit has 24 bushings, Pioneer's kit has 16 bushings, you still have to buy another kit, and they are still plastic, much like what came in the sled stock.

I replaced the a-arm and spindle bushings in my Vector with Pioneer's and after almost 3,000 miles they are still tight. The Pioneer bushings are made out of a much better plastic material than the stock. I had my Nytro torn down replacing the subframe and it also needed bushings. Pioneer didn't have any in stock so I went with Ulmer's which where twice as expensive and a little harder to install. I cracked one of the bushings flanges and had to buy another one for $6 plus shipping. I wouldn't be afraid to install Pionner's bushings especially if money is an issue but I think most sled owners would steer you toward Ulmer's.

I have had both; Ulmers tightened up the front end more then the pioneer kit, but they both seemed equal in durability.

To anwser the question, my sled has just over 3,000 miles on it. I have the sled on the lift in my garage right now and they are BAD!! Pretty equal to my 06 rev with only 1,200 miles on it though so im not complaining. I am getting the a-arms powder coated, and got new shocks going on any how so they have to come off.
Can someone explain to me why people say ulmers has more bushings then the pioneer kits?? Isnt there same amount of bushings to replace either way? Is there more then just a-arms bushing i need to replace, I'm confused there..
This is my first time doing this on a yamaha so i have no clue..
KINGER: Which kit would you personally suggest to me?

I think the oilite bushings are the way to go, I would go with Ulmers. Man my A arms are tight and still are after 3000 miles.

Our kit is $135, not $165. I just have to correct the mis-information.

I used the Pioneer kit and after 5,000 miles the front end is still tight. The stock ones had slop in them when they where new.
