we had a blast today,my friend owns both of these sleds and we did a few short and long pulls, the polaris would pull from the start everytime but the apex would come and get it on top,i hadnt been on a 2s for a while, couldnt beleive the bottom end of that 800,instant power compared to the silky smooth pull of the apex, but hands down, the apex is much more fun to drive, the sound of the 4 banger with exup is addicting, top end is impressive for a heavy sled,he also has a 08 nytro wich is even more snappy than the polaris 800,side by side, the nytro would jump for a good 500 feet before the assault would catch up,i cant see myself owning another 2s,so much vibration thru the bars and that 2s smell that i dont miss, but still alot of fun to drive

How many miles on the Apex

Glad you had a good ride Pat. I went in the shed and had a look, mine are still there! Maybe take them out for a spin on Christmas day.

Traction

We're they equaly studded?
I ride with a 2012 Apex XTX that is not studded. It hooks hard for no studs, but my studded 121 RX1 leaves it by 2 to 3 sleds out of the hole. They do run very good for a stock sled.

No studs on both, both were hooking good but the lighter weight gives it more punch at the starting line,i was on the apex,i would catch up everytime though and eventually pass him

More fun to ride? What in a strait line??
Straight line, sound, smoothness, comfort, torque, high revs, quality, insane top end, power steering, fuel economy, warm ride all make it a better experience for me

I'd give the Ape the nod to being better at groomed trail riding...

But that would be it.

I beg to differ a well set up Apex with an experienced rider can run with anyone. As that goes with pretty much any sled. I've seen 500cc sleds run with anyone because of the set up and skill of the driver.
