ski-doo has an oversizes idler that is made to be much thinner than the one that is stock on the apex. It is the idler they use on the 440 ski-doo. This would keep you from having to mill the mount. I'm sorry I didn't get the part # but I can call and get it on monday.

Great.... Find out the actual size as well. Should be in mm.

I just installed Arctic Cat black wheels on mine..just knock out the plastic bushings and there you go, a 6205!
Ofcourse, I had 60 thous machined off the mounts.
These wheels held up fine this weekend fr 151miles!!
They are tough!

This is great that we have so many wheel options but......... as for myself I have 5 years of warranty that I purchased with this sled, YAMAHA needs to step up to the plate and get us some suitable replacements at their expense. :o|

I've got the booklet at work and it DOES say idler wheels are not covered.I sell exened warranties for a car dealership and therefore read what IS NOT covered as compared to WHAT IS covered. But this might not be the same in every country. Here in Canada the paper says they are not covered.Hope your dealer is right.

i can understand the wheels not being covered under normal wear and tear, but these things are falling apart in just a few miles, thats a defect..

Agreed.

I called Yamaha Warranty in CA. last week Monday and complained about the wheels and how my hyfax was completely shot at 100 miles because of the wheels and I was driving in good snow conditions. I also had the dealer make a note on my invoice about the reason why the Hyfax wore out. I had the dealer put new hyfax on an in under one mile on a snow covered lake at 60 miles per hour I could smell the hyfax melting already with out the new wheels installed yet because they were backordered

Yamaha called my dealer after I spoke with them they instructed them to replace my wheels and Yamaha was going to cover the hyfax. My dealer has 58 wheels on order already and they are back ordered. Yamaha also FEDEX'd my dealer a set of 05 wheels for installation by them under warranty. Funny how Yamaha warranty was able to find a set of wheels that fast when the rest are backordered!

FYI.... If your hyfax burned up like mine because of the rear wheels complain like hell! Yes, they are a wear area, but they are not supposed to wear out in 100 miles on snow.
