Subframe and lower right a arm are bent after a 10 mph collision with the smallest waterhole. Wtf! I'm going to try to pry it back and run it. Couple of questions though......

My nytro is an 09 xtx.

Are the current sub frames stronger, anybody have an idea what they cost?

Whst is the cost roughly for the Grizz gusset kit?

Welcome to the club! as long as the upper a arm is not touching the shock just ride it.
The new sf are better but they will still bend.
You can bend it back but it will take a small hit to bend it again.

The toe in on the right ski is all f'd up now too. It has way too much toe in.

There were a couple part outs for sale on eBay recently. You could buy one and have it shipped to ulmer or half baked and have them add the beef up kit with powder coating. Then put that in, probably cheaper then new. Just an idea.... I did that ahead of time this time, after living through this on my 08

OK now I have a yamaha PN question about subframes and a-arm. Looking for help to determine if the parts are interchangable.

I looked up PN's for the subframes. Here's what I found:

2009-2012 subframe PN = 8GL-21940-02-00

2013 subframe PN = 8GL-21940-03-00
The 2013 subframe is less $$

For the righhand lower a-arms here's what I come up with

2009 PN = 8HK-23580-00-P0
2010-2012 PN = 8HK-23580-10-P0
2013 PN = 8JH-23580-00-00

I know the a-arms for the 2013's are black and mine are silver, so is the second 2 digits the color code?

8GL-21940-02-00 is the part number for Nytro's from 2008 to 2012 but I'm not sure if the new 03 number for 2013 will fit the previous years. So far all of the sites I've checked are listing the 02 part number for Nytro's prior to 2013. Normally a part number change like this means it's just an updated frame that is compatible with all the previous versions. I didn't think they made any dramatic change for 2013. Maybe this is another attempt to strengthen it.

Thanks Grizz. At this point I really just need to figure out what I'm going to do for an a-arm fix. I might be able to bend it back but am worried the arm will be forever weak, and I'm not sure how straight I can get it. It just has the slightest curve to it.

I believe going with your gussets and bending the fram back is the better option as far as cost and performance on the subframe.

So if anybody has any insight on a-arms that would be great. I see a few on ebay but want to make sure I buy the right one.

Have you checked the classifieds on here yet? There always seems to be a arms on there. I think I got my new sf on Yamahapart.com for about cheapest I could find. $438 or something around that price then put in the grizz guesset kit right away.

Thanks. Yes I was on yamahapart earlier today. The 2013 subframes are even cheaper. I also looked on the classifieds here briefly, will scan them more thoroughly.

What I'm really trying to figure out is if there are any differences from 2009-2013. There are several PN's for the RH lower a-arm as i mention above. It would make the searching much easier if I knew all model years (09-13) were the same except for color.

Soon as I get the arm I plan on ordering the gussets

so i was taking a look at the damage more closely this evening. I also see damage to the ski, looks like the spindle cracked the plastic just in front of the rubber. AND damage to the spindle, appears that the lower arm hit the spindle. I dont think either are anything more than cosmetic. :o| #$%&* #$%&* #$%&*

will try and take some pics and post them.

Shitty deal.....so you hit a creek crossing? If you have that much damage you might be better off trying to find a aftermarket frontend kit

Right shock not centered

Look how kicked back the right side looks. Look at the shock clicker for ref.

I hit a small hole. 6" wide by maybe 2ft. Just on the right. It ran parellel to the ski.

I can probably take pics/measurements/etc of my 2013 xtx if it'll help show any difference in parts. THough I hit some water holes pretty hard over the weekend so now you have me worried, lol...

That looks similar to my big f'n rock hit a couple seasons ago. The shock bottoms so hard that the lower arm bends. It bends in such a way as to move the ball joint back in relation to normal which kicks the spindle out at the back causing the toe in. I'm still using my ski that looks like that but the spindle is your call.

Also, on mine, the hit was large enough to bend the upper shock mount on the subframe (I think the tube twisted at the mount). That caused that side to sit lower/sag. Look at the shock spring nuts in this pic compared to the plastic and you should see what I mean.
