Does anyone know the measurements of the the '05 mountain skis? Those things are HUGE!!!! They could float a Sherman tank!!

I wonder how much they are going to cost?

Also does anyone have the measurements of Powder Pro's for comparison??

When I was at the early show here in Mich. Yamaha didn't have any mountain sleds or the skis. But the brochier they were handing out showed the skis to be about $100.00 each. I would like to look at 1 up close but I'm thinking of getting a pair.

I thought I read somewhere that they were 7" wide

I think the Powder Pros are also 7" wide

Simmons are 6" wide if I remember correctly

I like my Powder Pros in every condition except for 'hard spring crust'. It seems like they catch an edge and it jerks the handle bars. Minor annoyance I guess - still way better than the stock skis for my type of riding.

So if they are 7" they match the powder pros and are $130 cheaper than the cheapest powder pros I have seen. I am betting that they weigh less than the Pro's too because of the integrated saddle.

The price of the skis are for just the skis, no loops or wear bars. But they have to be lighter than original also.

One other pro about the new Yamaha skies is they are adjustable. So I figure lighter, cheaper and adjustable. Not too shabby.

I read in Snow Tech that they are wider on the inside as to not make the sled any wider. How would these ski's work for a Warrior for trail riding/boondooking?

I have the Ski Doo adjustable offset skies on. Their almost seven inches wide both towards the inside and they float very well. They are also very responsive on the trails but made my steering effort more. I have the MPI tranfer kit, with the stock skies 2 inch carbides my setting was at #2 but with the offsets its at #4.
Picked it up for $100 bucks, so I couldn't pass the offer.

I hate to be a bearer of bad news but I talked to a rep at West Yellowstone. I read somewhere ( don't remember where) that the skis are one pound heavier that previous two seasons stock skis. The rep confirmed this. They do apear to be the same width as SLP Powder Pros though. The plastic is real thick and is probably why they weigh more.

these ski's work great ,i did get to try them last week in spring like conditions . on the grommed trails there was no darting, sidehilling they held the the sled straight.wish there was some powder to try that but was very happy so far comparing to my powder pro's and simmon's. :D
