The Reverup is good for 60,000 miles before you are supposed to treat the metal again you can use it in any motor...
The Fitch fuel catalyst is supposed to last way past the life of a sled..
I also do not like to modify the engine as I don't like a less reliable sled, the drag N fly clutch weights are just as reliable as the stock parts so there is no problem there, just much better technology ..

Sorry, had to chime in. I wish that people wouldn't use phrases such as "it's a MUST", I'm talking in particular about the notion that the skis have to be replaced on an XTX. There are quite a few owners that I know that have only changed to dual carbides (as well as dialing in) and have found extreme satisfaction with the handling . I did the same, just the duals and studs for the shoes and have no problems.
My 2 cents.

If Yamaha would have put some decent shocks on the rear I'd have been much happier. A couple of other nuisance issues are present but they're easy and inexpensive to fix. As for power and clutching? I'm not an engine mods guy. For my use it goes just fine in stock form. Until I can tape the throttle to the bar and hold it there for the majority of the ride, power isn't my priority. Suspension and steering improvements will net me better gains than engine tricks. Braap, Braap doesn't do it for me. I'm looking for Braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap.
Getting to top speed is the sled's job. Keeping it there is the rider's job.

It will depend on your situation. I changed carbides, adjusted angles, none of it helped. Then I threw on a set of slydog trail skis with 7.5" shaper bars and it was a whole new sled. Easy to turn, even at low speed, and incredible bite. I'm very happy with these skis, recommend them to everyone, but only because they worked so well for me. If you have something that works for you, go with it, thats the name of the game.
Oh, and mine is studded for extra push, a must if you're going to ride anything but pure powder in my opinion. YMMV.

Stud Boy, yep. To be fair, I'm about a 70% trail rider, 30% off trail/ditch/pwdr. If you ride other conditions, then yes, maybe products other than the duallies are required. But they are cheaper than skis to find out.

I did powder pro skis, 1.75 track and screwed around with my skid untill I got it right, ride mostly off trail and I can honestly say this thing is unreal. Couple of little things I'm still going to change but with what I've done so far I'm 99% happy. I ride with a good variety of sleds from 600s to 800s and although I don't race much when I do I havn't seen anyones tail light yet. If when you get it it's not what you expected play around with it untill it is, this sled may not be perfect in stock trim but has more potential than any other sled on the market right now. Good luck.

Buy the pilot ski #860200165 Freestyle .and wearbar shaper s-d7.5 that's a studboy. 114 up the center. gold digger 1.325. that made my sled a lot better.
All I can say is if you ride aggressive you have to use alot of body english.
I way 190# and maybe 200 with all my gear on. What I am hoping for is that somebody with the same set up that I have, and is way better a tune and suspension then I am will come up with something.

If i were you I would get it home and ride it!! You'll be more than pleased! These things pull like a bat out of hell as it is!! As far as the darting goes, the 09's are leaps and bounds ahead of the 08's in the handling department(out of the crate) however they do tend to seek a bit on a groomed hardpacked trail but nothing a good set of carbides wouldn't fix for you now!! For starters, that's the only area I'd be looking in. Cheers, and enjoy your new snow rocket!!
