I just purchased new 6 inch carbide deuce bars from studboy. Rode Newberry Mi trails all last weekend and had major push in turns. The only mod on my machine is Fat Boy spring set at 2nd clip and 6th position on preload. I weigh 325ilbs dressed and sled handled like a dream other than push in front end in the tight turns and nasty darting when I was not on the gas. Only bottomed once and that was on saturday afternoon when the trails were trashed.

Looking at these new bars they look very agressive!! I am thinking I can add some weight transfer to the rear end with these new bars. These new bars are supposed to help with darting and should steer much better (my stock bars are junk!!!). I love the way i can hook up with out studs on this machine and if i can add some more transfer with these new bars up front it will be great. Anyone have experience with aggressive wear bars and playing with the transfer rod? What can I expect and what would you reccomend?

thanks to MightyWarrior for oil change posts and mono shock removal posts. very informative and dead on!. I print them and use them like a service manual in my garage.

Those are dual carbide runners arnt they?

Im not sure why you want to add more rear transfer if you are experiencing push in corners.. I would want more ski pressure..

I thought I might be able to dial in more transfer due to changing to such an agressive runner versus the stock 4 inchers. The pushing is happening coming into the corners when the weight is all on the ski's and i am off the throttle. My assumption is that this 6inch dual runner will give me better turning coming into the corner and since it is so aggressive that i could get away with more transfer for hook up out of the corners..... wondering if anyone has tried this or if i make any sense.....

With your weight, it sounds like you need to transfer some of it to the skis. Not sure how you do that with a mono-shock??? Shorten straps, maybe, which may not be the best way to do this. I usually leave that for the last resort. You may need to get a stiffer shock spring. Or, ... I redrilled the front suspension holes (up 1/4") in the tunnel of a friends Cat once. That worked really well for him. That particular model Cat had the track to tunnel clearance to handle this.

Unfortunatly.. the reason you are pushing is becasue snow plugs up between the two carbides and renders the carbides useless.. (when in corners)

I had woodys dualies on my rx warrior once two years ago.. Great for removing darting... but pushed badly in corners.. (just like you noted) I soon sold them!

Only way to get rid of push is to get rid of them and go back to a good 6 or 8 inch single carbide..

I have not even installed the dually bars yet. It has been pushing with the stock bars. Sorry if i confused anyone.

Just to clarify i am not having any major handling problems. In fact this is the best handling sled i have ever owned. I am just looking for advice on tweaking the transfer bar when using a more aggressive carbide.

I soon discovered that myself..... I will try the duece bars and see what i think and then if i dont like it i will swap skis or go to a large single bar.

I have tried both bars.......... The dooly's do plug up with snow.. And push.. The new duece bars are much, much closer together.. The side walls are also shaped like shaper bars, meaning they bite into the snow.. I'm crazy about my duece bars on my vector..No darting with good hook-up in the corners. MM. ;)!

Gald to hear it MadMax. How much more hook up than stock wear bars if you had to give it a percentage. I really would like to dial in some more weight transfer and if these bars are dramatically better than stock I will......

Sorry to say I never even tried my stockers... I put the dooly's on right off the bat.. Ran them all last year.. Put them on my wifes V-max... Put the new duece bars on this year.. Just the way they are designed you can tell & feel how they would work nice in corners...MM. ;)!

If you have the means you can solve all of your problems with Simmons skis. I too am a big guy but not quite your sveltyness but you will need to put a bit more transfer to your skis.

I just sent my Simmons skis back ....
I'm sure there great skis for other sleds but I didnt like them on my Attak...drf

The duallies plugging up with snow is not why they typically push - it is because the inside one holds the outside one up rather than let it dig down.

Duallies are only good for reducing the darting. however, the Duece is a good idea if they are angled - would be interesting to try.
