New to me Sidewinder LTX with Hurricane 270 flash

Tune was put in January of 19 Hurricane says its not in the tune, 240R Tune, LTX model, It's been to a Yamaha dealer 3 times to check for a boost leak.

Looks like you hi jacked this thread...

8900 top end RPM'S The dealer that installed the tune and clutching spent 2 1/2 weeks trying to get it to go faster, finally he said that's all it's got.

Are you talking speedometer speeds? If so, check with a GPS. My sleds speedometer reads at least 10% low compared to GPS speeds with hurricane tunes. So 108 on my sled is really over 120mph. It is hard to get much over 120mph with the stock gearing.

Listen, my sled had multiple boost leaks, exhaust leaks, loose clamps etc etc. When we dynoe’d it stock, it only would produce 186HP. The performance shop that did mine, said he wasn’t going to give up until he found the issues. He spent two weeks with it. Sealed every leak and put new clamps on everything. Boost leak tests, and smoke tests. Stock BOV was crap. The 225 tune only pulled 198 HP. My 240 tune could only muster 209HP with all the issues/leaks/BOV ETC ETC....and the 270 tune only pulled 218HP. Goes to show how bad the leaks and issues were.

Thats why dynoing it before the tunes and after is so important. Without that info...you don’t know where you’re at, and what you got.

Finally, after everything was gone through...she dynoe’d 206 HP stock. Then the tunes were put in again, and it was a whole new ballgame. 225 Tune pulled 235HP. And 270 tune pulled 275HP. You also need an aftermarket BOV, and a 3 Bar Map sensor for the tunes to be all they can be.

You have the same problem I had guaranteed. I don’t know where your from...but PM me if you want my performance shops name...they made my sled all it is supposed to be, and then some.

I guess I will be taking some time to check it over and tighten clamps.... any in particular that may be problems?

Check all clamps on charge tubes, intake boots, exhaust bolts on header pipe etc. Stock BOV is another culprit , seen them leaking as low as 10 lbs. Pressurizing the system helps find leaks nicely.

Thank you for the information. I will check them for sure. Also, I will be replacing the BOV as it is the stock one. Thanks.
