15 viper ltx LE
Just purchased a 15 viper ltx LE. Coming from a ZX 2 stroke doo this is a major upgrade and hopefully a back saver. Just looking for general advice such as what carbides to run, air shock settings, things to watch for etc. Bought the sled a week ago and was able to put on 300km but the snow is all but gone now. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks lads !

Haha yes that probably is a good idea. Gave myself a little tease now I have all summer to think about it. Although I love the seating position and the ride of the sled I did experience a lot of push in the corners. I read a lot of mixed reviews on here about the tuner skis. From the dealer my machine had dual runners but only carbide on the inside of each of ski. Is this normal? My sled does have the 1.75 lug so I assume it may push a little more then others, but with the proper carbide/suspension setup im assuming I can get it dialed in?

Took a X-TX SE 1.6 lug track for a test ride today and I thought it handled very good as is. excellent off trail!

My sled came with only one carbide one each side that is normal. The push was quite bad until 6 in carbide inside and 4 in on the outside and tightened up limiter one hole. Still push in powder but will replace skis when carbides wear out. I'm not too sure about the tuner skis may try the curves.

10-4. From what I read on here it sounds like the curves are a must on the viper, but I will try your carbide setup and see how it does for me. Do you find a noticeable power difference in the mbrp can and header? And which 4th wheel kit did you purchase?

Put a set of Curves on my S-TX_DX and can't get over the difference. Would recommend a ski upgrade to everyone.

Not sure where in Ontario you are from but there are some nice trails just a little north of Sudbury still open if you wanted to get a little more seat time before the summer! :sled1:

I unfortunately made the mistake of putting upgrades on before totally broken in but I don't think it made much difference. I just put the rear cheap kit on orange ones from yamaha. I would like more time but I think I'm about 5 hrs south of Sudbury roughly

Well if you decided to come this way I can point you in the right direction! Are you talking about the rear wheel kit?? If so mine and my wife's sleds both have them 2000kms+ no issues

Im about 4 hours out of Sudbury....west of Ottawa. Went to school up there, done the trek up the ol 17 many of times haha. Trails must be getting pretty sloppy though? We have virtually nothing left down here. I might just have to tough it out until next year but still undecided haha.

My wife's uncle just came back, he went up to shinning tree and back and reported that the trails were beautiful!!! If you know where Capreol is they trailer to there and run to three bear lodge and back(3to 4hr ride each way with gas at shilling tree lodge) the first 30kms you run a pole line then it's all logging road very fast!!! We do that run often it's awesome!!!

X2.

Curves really make the Viper rail in the corners.

Great deep snow floatation too.

That's what I keep hearing. Is there a certain model of curves that work particularly well? And what carbides do you run with them>?
