A friend of mine was at a Yamaha dealer meeting and there was talk about Yamaha bringing out new sliders, made from better material.

I have had some problems in the past ('09 vec). Mainly sticky sliders due to insuffcient cooling. I had to pry my track loose a couple of times and burnt a belt to smithereens so I am really interested.

Can anybody confirm this?

I was just at RJ Sport & Cycle this afternoon. Not in yet. They've heard about them and know they are coming, but not in yet.

No worries, I'm good ;)!
I was biking the last couple of weeks but it's getting colder outside now. So I thought I'd drop in here and see what's gong on. I can't wait to change machines and hit the trails again.
Get the ol' sled ready you know.... :-o

 Yes its getting close to that time to start tuneing them up for another good season! Let us know how those new slides work out if you get a set for the vec!

Haha, they said I was the second person that asked about them today! I was going to Duluth Monday and was wondering if they had them yet.

they should start to show at dealers by end of November- first of December i have a set on order and say they will be shipped on the 29th

I talked to my dealer today and he said the first part of December. It seems they are being pushed out every week. They were suppose to be here middle of November then end of November and now into December.

Time will only tell for sure when they do get here.

eh, I'll let somebody else try em first. I h ave seen the pics, read about them but for the cost, they better last forever. It only takes me 20 minutes to change the hyfax now and I usually use 1 and about a half of hyfax each season.

Zeke: All depends on what you like doing I guess. Ya, it's not overly complicated to change them, but a pita nonetheless. I figure these new slides will last me pretty much forever. I rack up lots of miles and go through slides not even as quickly as you as I dont have to change them once a year even. But to me it's worth it if they last that long.
