Ok guys, I read the owners manual, and it don't say anything about how to change my 09 Apex MTX oil filter, however I used the Ulmer racing ones, no problem there. I have a question about refilling the oil and bleeding? I see there is an oil cover in the top pan, do I add some oil there or all the oil there? or put some/all the oil in the reservoir. Finally is there any bleeding procedure like on 4 stroke dirt bikes? or just run it like a car and recheck the level in a few minutes?
I have done many searches here and have not found the info I am looking for, so any help will be great, thanks...

just put about 3/4 of a quart in the motor and the rest in the dry sump tank (where you check the oil) run it till hot and recheck no bleeding needed

Thanks, now second question, is there a screen we should remove in the bottom of the reservoir similar to my WR450 4 stroke bike too for cleaning?

yes
Yes, loosen up the clamp and remove the screen to rinse...especially if it is your first time changing the oil.

yes, there is a screen. but i don't think you have to worry about it until you get some miles on her.

shavings
I have done the first oil change on 5 fourstrokes and there has been quite a bit of debris in the screen on all of them.

Screen is located at the bottom of the oil tank, in a 90 degree chrome tube held on by 2 allen head screws, I believe.

Yes the the dry sump oil tank. There is an o-ring not a gasket and it doesn't need to be replaced unless you loose it or it gets damaged.

I brought mine to the dealer and had him take care of it. $90.00, well worth it to me. That thing scares me when you pop the hood off and you can't even see an engine!! Wig
