How is the new sled? I could use an honest report for this machine. Any details?

Well I know Yammie guys are not open to other brands, but I purchased the Jag for my high mile trail sled. It had to do the following things:
- be reliable warm to ride with hand warmers
- not wear me out after a 300-400 mile day in Quebec
- be able to be repaired at dealers if need be on the trail, and
- the big, be one quiet for sensitive areas where trail closures are possibly pending.
So for the sled has delivered everything I hoped for. The ride quality and ease of riding are a surprise to me. I knew the F-sleds worked well based off my wife's F8 LXR but it amazes me. The power is sneaky no surges like Apexes but a steady broad pull that can scare you when its time to slow down if need in a hurry.
The only complaint would be the nose heavy weight but it is only apparent when trying to move the sled in the shop on cement floors, that I can live with.
As always I think cat hit a big home run with this sled after miles are logged and we see the good or bad a better asumption will come. My take on this machine is cat nailed a market that has evolved and they seen this and responded. Its not going to beat 300hp yammies across the lake but it sure is a fun sled to ride. How do you rate a good sled, me is by the fun I have riding it.
Yamaha I hope you guys are reading this, a 200 h.p. lighter sled would be a great thing.

Excellent. I'm open to any brand, unlike some off the others. Hearing reports of blowing belts, underpowered, and problems inhaling powder into intake and stalling. Have you seen any of these issues? Also, Heave you run up against a good stock broke-in Yamaha yet? I'm hearing the STOCK Yamaha outrunning a STOCK Z1 turbo, any truth to this in your experience? Very hard to imagine a 150 HP four-stroke beating a 177 HP four-stroke, But I suppose anything is possible. Just like the first V-Max four 750 was such a disappointment getting beat by the underpowered smaller sleds in its day.

I too am interested in this sled. Im not overly brand loyal, and can only imagine the Z1 will get better within a year and a few things are changed.
But with that said I have been reading the Z1 forums and it appears to be a mixed bag, same issues Knapp brought up. However I realize first year sleds are going to have more.
I hope to see one in person soon, I really want to take a good look at it and see what its all about. It can only be good as a whole for everyone thats a HP junkie!

I had a conversation yesterday with Gle Hall and I think the belt issue is a combination of self induced and maybe the spider needing to be shimmed or better belt grab at engagement, this is a heavy sled with tractor like torque. As far as stock apexes beating it I dont beleive it these things roll up into triple digits with ease I still have my apex turbo never part wityh it but stock apex es no way, as for snow ingestion I havent expereinced that problem. My opinion is if you want a warranty and be fast and comfy I think at this time its # 1 sled to buy.Remember guys there will be bogus reports and inacurate assuptions on everything here in the internet world. I like it so much I think the wife is going to be on a regular turbo with a nice pink kit soon, seen one at the dealer and it looks cool.
