06 Nytro, went for a ride last night in northern NY, temp was -5, rode fine to where we ate dinner.........came out, started up fine......NO HEADLIGHTS! Toggled high/low beam switch, then they seemed to come on, did this once last year.............anyone have any ideas? All connections seem good, relay maybe? Thanks in advance.

I have had the same problem when I go to start it up sometimes. They usually come on after the sled finishes warming up or I just turn it off and back on again. Not sure why it happens tho

Had the same problem with mine they would come on, the only weird thing is my high beams would work but not the low beams. I dont know but after a few mins they would work properly.

This is normal. The sled shuts off all high draw electric systems when the battery is low during warmup.
This happened to me when riding in Canada and the headlight always comes back on after it was fully warmed up.
You may want to measure your battery's voltage with the engine on and off to make sure it is still strong. You should see 11.5-12.5 volts when off and 13.5-14.5 when running. If not, you might have a weak battery.

Thanks for the replies! Garserio, this would make sense due to the fact that I was riding in -5 weather, with hand warmers on full, thumb warmer on full, and high beams on for most of the time and I could see how that would draw on the battery/charging system...........I will keep an eye on everything, and give the electrical system a check with the voltmeter before the next ride, thanks again everyone........

From what i understand it is not a charging system issue but a faulty relay problem. I took my sled in and the mechanic new right away what was happening. He said they were told that it is the grease in the relay hardens in extreme cold and will not make contact. As soon as it gets some heat in it everything comes back on. I guess we shall see when i get it back.

Yes,, signal system relay hangs up in colder weather like the fuel pump relays of last year.

What are you riding? Do EFI sleds have electric fuel pumps?fedorov5549 said:Yes,, signal system relay hangs up in colder weather like the fuel pump relays of last year.
