very strange issue today. Came out in the morning, started sled on the trailer. I waited for the warmup then pulled off the trailer and parked in front of the room. It's about minus 10. Finished getting dressed and came out to ride. Turn the key, and the dash doesn't come on. Key off then on and no change. Turn the key and the engine turns over but won't fire up. Key off and on and no change. Still turns over but won't start. I turned the safety switch on and off too. I thought it's a fuse, but it's too cold to work on it. So I rode the other sled all day. When we get back it's minus 5. I decide to try it again. Key in, dash lights up and engine starts right up. I'm baffled. No codes or lights on the dash.
Anyone have an issue like this? Is it just a one time thing, or do I need to go back to the dealer for a checkup? It's a 2015 LTX DX. Could it be a frozen relay of some sort?

As I think about it, it's acted exactly like the emergency switch was off. Does that use a relay to work? Flipping the switch back and forth didn't change anything... I bet that's a Cat setup, isn't it?

I had bad battery cell in my 2015 r-tx-dx. It was fine in warm weather but went dead (just clicked) when the temps dropped into the teens in early winter. After a full day charging at 2amps/hr t would turn over but still would not start. It measured 12.8 volts after charging, but with a bad cell it did not put the cranking amps out to crank & fire. Not sure if that's your issue but thought id mention it. If you have a battery analyzer you might want to check it or bring it to your dealer and have them check it if not too much trouble. Mine was determined bad (bad cell) as my charger analyzer indicated, and it was replaced under warranty.

Do you have a tether? We had a sled with a similar issue. The engine would crank but the dash wouldn't light up with the key on. We jumped out the tether connector and it fired up.

I don't have a tether, but that does sound like the issue. I wonder if there is some setting in the computer that could have faked it out?
I can test the battery easy enough... But it cranked over well enough. I'd be surprised if that's it. Temp never got above zero today, so I don't think it would crank at the end of the day.

Warm the relays under the hood on the clutch side if it happens again and see if that is it.

That's interesting. How did you warm the relays? I'll report mine so they know.

I had this exact scenario happen to my 2015 XTX SE. -10F started right up. Warmed up, shut off, fueled up the tank then moved it across yard and shut it down while getting geared up.
Sled was at 125F when I shut it off.
About 15 minutes later, went to start it, turned key, no dash at all and it would turn over but not fire (no spark at all).
Turning the key on and off probably 10-15 times I started to get 3 an error codes

I was going to disconnect the battery and re-connect it to clear any residual on power memory. However, going back out with the 10mm wrench, I tried the key again and it all lit up correctly and fired right up. I shut it down and restarted it again without issue and have started it hot cold and every other way without issue (over 50 times) since.

Do you think moisture/steam is working it's way into the relays? How about some shrink tubing, electrical tape or silicone to seal them up?

i had the relays replaced on my 15 ltx se all ready ,got stuck in reverse the first time then same thing just turned over ,i ended up using one of those hand warmers you use on your feet or hands threw it in my arm pit for a couple of minutes lol then put it on them good to go, sometimes you have to do what you have to do to get going again
Last year I had this problem intermittently. Replaced throttle block and has never happened again. Was a bad connection in throttle block somewhere.
