No. It is a repetitive stress injury.

I was thinking about the left hand throttle too..
I have bad corpal tunnel in both hands.. DOesnt bother too bad untill the second day of riding.. then my hands and fingers go knumb after 10min of riding and i have to shake the crap out of them to get the feeling back..
Really sucks, but what do you do..

Thumb and wrist
I can tell you had some very similar issues a year ago. I had to see a specialist and did therapy for 8 months. This past season I didn't really have any issues with my hand, wrist or thumb. The therapy did exactly what it was supposed to do. I put in about 3,800 miles this year so the proof is in the riding distance. Don't wait get in there and see who you need to and get it taken care of before it gets worse.
I also used a thumb thing from RU Outside for a little while this year and it helped at the begining of the season then my thumb was broken in and working great! Good Luck!

At the begining of each snowseason for about the last 3-4 years, my hands wanna lock up, like my fingers hurt in the joints when I let go of my bars and open my hands. This only happens for the first ride or two. I race alot of motocross and my hands never bother me when I race, do you guys think it may be the cold?
you may want to try isovibes, they help as well. I have used them for years

if you have problems use a product call THUMBTHING this helps a lot i have carpul tunnel and RSD in both hands and i wear this thing and it works it made by the company RUOUTSIDE they make the BACKTHING (KIDNEYBELT)
I have the same problem another approach is to loosen the throttle just enough so it can be rotated on the bars. I then change the position several times a day and can ride with the throttle in the crotch of the hand versus the end of the thumb all the time.

The key to numb free riding and no arm pump is to set your controls so there is a linear line in the wrist as soon as your wrist is cocked at a 45 degree angle up/down it will start to show signs of arm pump and fatigue. Not saying that this will work for all but it will help most of the time, take it from me.The one armed bandit!

Went to the doctor today, it took a couple weeks to get in and of course I'm pretty much recovered now.
His diagnosis was a kind of temporary nerve damage; his opinion is I pinched something in my wrist. I still have to get an x-ray to be sure though.
I still think a lot of it has to do with handlebars on the snowmobiles I rode. The one I started out on had quite a bit of pull back and the others did not. If I find that to be the problem, at least I can change out the bars for some aftermarket ones.
If anything comes of the x-ray I'll update again.
thanks for all the help.
