No Yamaha at Milwaukee snow show?

Wondering if anyone has any ideas why Yamaha wasn’t at Milwaukee snow show?

It was too bad not seeing them. They tried to lay the show out so it didn’t look empty, but to me it seemed very small.

Yes no Yamaha no Cat did make it seem smaller but there was plenty of people there spending money.

The show was great if you like 509 gear. Thats all that was at every booth. Some Klim and Castle gear as well. Very limited options this year on good snow gear and prices were not that great either. Very sparse this year on gear options.

I heard the table fees are through the roof and some vendors don't want to pay that much anymore.

This was the first year I've gone in probably 15 years, and from what I remember, it was a lot bigger back then. The internet is ruining stuff like this I guess.

I was told at Hay Days they would not be there and most likely not at Novi as well due to trucking contracts.

I have no idea what they are thinking, I was just posting what I was told.. I can believe contract cuts and maybe thats what pushed it.

I don’t know how many sales it produces. But it seemed to me the whole time I was at the show the ski doo display was packed. I just can’t believe if your trying to compete it’s better to not show up to stuff.

I think what is happening is that Cat and Yamaha are attempting to change the way Sleds are going to be marketed and sold in the future! I believe, after this 2021 release by Cat, that Textron is steering the boat and Yamaha is along for the ride. It seems to me that they are making deals as they go along because of what each company is offering. For example take the Transporter 600 and the Northsman 600/800. For Cat the Northsman is there for 2019, gone for 2020, now back again for 2021. Yamaha has the transporter in Europe for 2019 and has it in North America for 2020. I believe that Textron and Yamaha are aligning themselves to be a true partnership company with each one taking a part of the pie that they want. We all have to remember that Textron and Yamaha don't need snowmobiles to survive! So maybe, by doing this, Textron will justify keeping the Artic Cat name alive and Yamaha will continue to have snowmobiles.

Again by what Cat has done by releasing the 2021 models this early with more to come mid November and the only way to get them is by Spring order only, you might see them back at the fall shows. Yamaha would probably do the same! This way than can showcase what their future is going to look like and what will be available to order in the spring. It would be kind of cool if they took it to the level of the big car shows. Concept cars on display, why not concept sleds? I truly believe the biggest cost is left over non current sleds sitting in the factory and dealer warehouses. If they marketed the future models at these shows with the only way to purchase them is by order only in the spring, in the long run I believe, economically it will be better for the industry. My opinion anyways.
