I have a whinning noise on my 09 XTX only while accelerating, it appears to be coming from the clutch area. Noise is only present while accelerating if I let off the throttle noise goes away if I continue to accelerate noise goes away, or maybe I just can not hear it anymore.
Now belt has alot of miles 1900 but almost all are groomed trail miles and appears to be in great shape, clutches cleaned and serviced about 600 miles ago. Anyone have any idea what this could be? I am 100% sure the noise is coming from the clutch side so I do not think it is the chain. I appreciate any thoughts. thanks

If it were me I'd start with the belt. Is it the stock Yami belt or other? What's the belt deflection? In other words what do you have for play etc?

Stock belt, does not appear to be LOOSE, belt rides right on top of the secondary, or did last time I checked (several weeks ago) I will re check. Thanks

I've heard of guys having noises on the clutch side before but they mostly say it sounds like a bag of marbles at idel etc. Never heard of the winding sound thru acceleration. Maybe some others will chime in for you.

Are you positive it's on the clutch side? It could be a chain case issue (bearings, shaft alignment, chain rollers, etc) Although I haven't heard of the Nytro's having issues with this.
