I was wondering if anyone else finds the the clutches on the Nytro noisy? Sometimes it sounds like a loose heat shield or something like that..
2009 Shorty.
Also do you need a puller to get the secondary off?
Thanks

My clutches are noisy also. (500 miles on sled) I took it into the dealer this week for that reason, he pulled the clutch off and the noise went away. He told me that this is normal.

here's a possible fix...seems to me I read an oldtimer post it..take a O ring and slide it down and over each of the flyweights...i guess it cushions the rattling..

Too funny that was my plan for tomorrow.. Over the flyweight bolts.....
It seems to me the rattle is because when the primary is disengaged at idle the weights do not touch the rollers which gives them some room to rattle and make noise. Once the clutch starts to engage the rattle goes away. The dnf weights that I put in do contact the roller when the clutch is fully disengaged and the rattle went away.

Nothing you do will make the noise go away. O rings, shimming the spider etc. The culprit is the splined coupling in the engine that joins the crank to the output shaft. This problem has been around since the Vector came out because it uses the same coupling design. Putting a P-85 on won't solve the problem either.

After blowing a drive belt and bending metal guard below the secondary clutch I now have a rattle that sounds like a loose heat shield. I will have to take it off and hammer it back into shape to stop the rattle.
300 miles on my 2010 XTX and the clutch is rattling loud at idle. Dealer said it was normal.

Yup, normal. Blame it on the splined coupler inside the engine that joins the crank to the output shaft.

I put Ulmer's clutch kit in mine and haven't heard it since. I can't explain it, but I am happy I don't have to listen to that or all the Doo guys I ride with asking me if my sled is falling apart anymore.

rattle
Have the heelclicker 2 speeds and no rattle..its from the extra force the weights generate even at idle I believe..
