Has anyone noticed that the bolts in the primary for the weights have slack between them and the towers
Isn't this going to cause the clutch to be noisy?
Can a plastic washer be added at one end or both to take up the slack and quiet the clutch down?

Noticed it. Mine sounded noisy. I believe that's the way the Yamaha clutching is. As far as play in weights and adding washers - No need is my guess. Someone else with more Yamaha clutch knowledge will chime in ..

Yes..this had been around for years...I've used nylon washers or "O" rings in the past...quiets them right up..

Mine is very noisy. Only 60 breakin miles now but at first, thought it was valves that were noisy. Thankfully its not that.
yes o-rings under the weight & roller bolt and nut will quiet the clutch.
I haven't turned my attention to this yet, but know it will drive me nuts when I start riding. My understanding is that the o-rings will help, but they don't last very long? If this is correct, has anyone tried using wave washers instead of o-rings to take out the play in the roller and ramp bolts? Something like these:

Dunno, I don't have any first-hand experience with the o-rings. I was reading through a long post (Nytro forum I think) last winter about this issue and seem to recall that the o-rings didn't last a long time.

If the o-rings are nitrile, UV rays will take them out in a month or 2.
I would use EPDM or maybe silicone. The silicone rings may stretch a little too easy and come flying out.....

the noise seems to be more the ramp looking for the roller as i have o rings on the roller pins and the clutch still makes noise .who makes larger rollers .?
Ducati dry clutch makes noise and so does a Yamaha Clutch especially on the 3 cylinder. Its performance you are hearing. The others sometimes need a audible warning. This is it. It means your day is just about to get ruined till you get one!

I have a question about why those rollers are as long as they are. The extra slop is the bolt and roller moving back-and-forth.
What would happen if a person were to simply trim the rollers so that they are flush or a bit more than the spider itself?
