Yes, I did the nylon washers from SB on my Viper. Very little improvement. A little reluctant to do the loctite thing, it seems at least some would wind up in the engine.Yes, I have lived with the loud clutch, and it performs well-much worse on one then the others. The stub shaft seems to be the source as those who 'locked it down' with special forms of Loctite stated it ALL went away on the Vectors. While those who used nylon or silicone washers saw only slight improvement and short lived if I recall correctly.

From what I understand it will be about the same.I had very little rattle from the Apex , but my Viper annoyed the hell out of me , I hope the SW isnt as bad , I couldnt stand the noise
A lot of people seem to be complaining about the noise. The noise is characteristic of the clutch design in combination with the three cylinder motor. The noise is a small price to pay for a clutch that works really well. It might be a different story if the clutch didn't work as well as it does and still made a lot of noise as well.
I have an Apex and it is very quiet as far a the clutch noise goes. The droning noise on the other hand while riding the Apex is another story. Don't seem to get that droning from the viper.

the solution is either to change the weight to a weight thats pressed against the roller...or possibly to shim the spider to creat the weight to roller contact..or...a larger roller which wouldnt be advisable since it would make the weight act lighter..

So a noisy Sidewinder clutch at idle is more of a norm than a rarity?
Any other SWs experiencing this?
I have approx 100 miles and mine started today...Rattles/clicks at idle...bit of a PITA...

Lol. Funny you mentioned that. I had a Doo guy point it out on the lake today. He said "WTF is that sound...", I said, not sure but I "doo" know that I blew your doors off 5 mins ago..." lol.
I'll go with the "rattle of the snake".

The rollers/bolts are going to rattle on these clutches. Also weights are not tight to rollers. Mine are way off rollers.. BUT all this means nothing because the clutches just flat out work and run cool!

It's either the rattle snake set on kill or the cat trying to claw it's way out
