"Non-quiet" Ripsaw 2 - Anyone tried one?

I am going to be getting a new track and then studding it. Anyone try a "non quiet" Ripsaw 2? I can pick up a new take off Ripsaw 2 with 1.25" lugs for just a bit more than one with the quiet bumps. Any pros or cons either way? Anyone actually use one of these yet on the Viper? Any gains? Should I get one that is fully clipped too?

Fully clipped non quiet would be worth extra cost. I fully clipped mine and have actually thought about grinding or shaving those bumps off! I believe they slow the sled down. I really like the handling and traction the Ripsaw 2 has and 6500mi mine still looks great. Was thinking same track with the little studs in lugs next. Forget the name of it.

Has anyone used any track without the "quiet bumps"? Did you notice any pros or cons?

With a loud enough exhaust you cannot hear anything!!! I think that is a gimmick we ran rip saws on everything for years and never had a track noise problem.

The quiet track is just a screwy Cat deal, I planned on buying a non quiet track for this year but after more thought and talking to some folks about it I decided to just stick with the quiet track, first year on a stock clutched sled it did fine getting low 100's, this past season with the turbo, 115+ mph, so if the bumps are hurting performance, it can't be much. I'm sure they hog some power..how many top speed guys do u see running a quiet track lol, had I been able to find a ripsaw 2 without the quiet bumps for a reasonable price I would've bought one, but the best I found was $485 for a new one, I picked up a brand new take off ripsaw 2 quiet track for $335 so I'll gladly take that $150 savings and put it towards new studs

I think the nubs also affect track alignment. So not only do you have wheels rolling over the bumps constantly but the wheels can't find a "track" I think it all adds up to a lot more drag than a normal track. But Turbo overcomes that!
