I have an aftermarket helix how would you be able to tell them how much to cut out where the spring sets1/8"?
More than likely already done if it's an aftermarket helix.

Well today was 40 degrees out and we did some groomed trail riding across open fields and no wind. I switched to a brand new 8dn belt today. After several miles of riding my rpms stayed consistent holding around 9150 and speeds varied from 85 to 90 tops at WOT. Far cry from 106mph on hard packed roads. I am guessing with my gear change I lost a little pull in there. 40'degree outside air temp and intake air was 90 today. When I did speed runs on road outside temps were 20 degrees so with that I do believe cold air makes hp.!

And soft snow has a lot of drag.

83-84 today for me. Warm temps and ECT. Wet and packy snow. Big stiff lugs holding me back.
Sad part is the 90HP Skidoo went just as fast in same conditions spinning a 137" 1.6 Ice cobra and running 3-400 rpm below target.

Today I rode on a river that had and inch or to of snow and was easy to spin out. Made several runs and after packing it down I did see 88" before having to slow down. A 2007 Phazer was seeing 78 in the same area. No comparison though.

Ya I know its not realistic conditions as the post says n/a top speeds. I was just comparing to different runs under to different conditions. Today was real conditions other than 40 degree temps. Doesn't the rtx have 8 tooth driver?106 on road not realistic trail conditions see post on viper Rtx- LE.

Was that on his speedo, or riding next to you?

Same rider (me) same stretch of trail minutes apart, and same GPS.

Cat 7000, clutch kit and air box mod. Perfect hard packed plowed road it'll do 99, tonight on the trail with slushy snow and 43 degree temps it struggled to break 80. Seen 80 a few times and 83 once. Conditions are everything as all the sleds I rode with today complained of slow speeds, except the cat turbo, he could cruise at 90 on the same trails I struggled to get 80 lol.

That's good to compare to mine yesterday. Did you see your air intake temps by chance?Cat 7000, clutch kit and air box mod. No, never thought to check, engine temp stayed at 167 the whole time.

Hey Studroes If you don't mind me asking what clutch kit do you have on your 7000? I thinking of doing the airbox on wife's 7000! She has the sandales pipe on it already rpm's are right at 9100 but with the airbox mod I think she may be into her rev limiterCat 7000, clutch kit and air box mod.
