Non turbo viper top speed!

ya read about guys with 2016 cat 800's only hitting in the early 100mphs some not even breaking it (http://www.hardcoresledder.com/forums/493-procross-2012/1511426-2016-zr-8000-top-speeds.html) and some said "they just changed tracks and drivers" and were getting another 10 mph....just what I came across

When I got my 14 XTX I rode with a buddy on a 800 snow pro Cat and on a lake with deep powder he could not get to 80 on trails maybe 85. I left him ride my pro R 800 which would do 90-95 in deep ad 105 on trails and he went home and traded the CAT in on 2 pro R's

Alot of the speed loss is suspension. Need this sled lower. Lots of sag. Sucking in my limiter strap 3 I believe gave me 1 or 2 mph. Will find out if I can live with it on trails tomorrow. Didnt seem bad at all in ditch.

Ok now you got me thinking. Tighten up my limiter tighten up my front skid spring to lighten my skis lower the front shock pressure take off my windshield lube my slides and here comes 110 hoorah !!!

I seen best speeds with like 1/4 turn of preload on the front skid shock, I'd suggest leaving that spring tension soft. Lower air pressure in the floats and lock your feet in the footwells and hang back as far as you can to collapse the suspension.

So your saying back off the preload and tighten a quarter turn after it touches? Is your sled sitting on the ground or upin the air when doing this. Also I have stock spring. Thanks for the advice

Back of the sled off the ground so the shock is completely extended. With that stuff rear suspension from what I've seen its all gotta be setup as soft as it can

I have a lift so I will do that 1/4 turn after nut touches spring everything else is set light limiter is one hole from end hole

I want to be able to post n/a 110 club on TY someday with video!!!!!!

Just run the sled wide open on the jack stand and video just the gauge lol. Do u have any clutch machining done?
I was wondering when that would come up. Sounds crazy. No machining of clutches.

If you have a local machine shop they could easily do some machining on your helix, may or may not help depending on clutch setup but the helix can be machines to allow the secondary to shift more and eliminate the chance of the spring binding. I gained 2 mph by having this done at a local shop that charged me $10 so can't go wrong there, but that was with stock gearing on my turbo so it had plenty of power to get it to shift more

I have an aftermarket helix how would you be able to tell them how much to cut out where the spring sets1/8"?
